Trying to decide on another Viper Days event and was wondering if anyone had any comments about BeaveRun? I know it's new, and see the layout on their site, but what about difficulty and Safety (any close walls, adequate room for mowing, etc?) Nice facility?

Any comments to help with my decision would be greatly appreciated. The other track I'm considering is Road America. I'm a relative beginner and like tracks like Gingerman which are forgiving during woodchuck hunts.

Thanks!!!

If you looked through the Beaverun website (www.beaverun.com), particularly at the images available under construction updates you can see that it appears to have pretty good runoffs... but no one will know for sure until it is paved and all guard rails and tire walls are installed. For what it is worth, Road America has its share of "high risk" areas, but remember when particpating in a Viper Days event if you are participating in the Challange Series it is a driving school not a race and as long as you can keep "you" in touch with your limitations, it should prove to be a very fun and safe event.

****** Run is now open. If you want to drive it, NASA-VA is running a driving school (and races) there on October 19/20. It should be interesting.

You can sign-up at:
http://www.nasaracing.net/

FYI, the 'Schedule' icon doesn't show ****** Run, but the registration page does.

The north track is open and they have had club events. North track is 35ft. wide with no seams. There is a High/Low differance in track of 67ft. There are some gard rails but there is alot of room to play in the dirt (the grass has not come up yet). The kart track is also open and they have rental carts, these karts are more like race karts. They also have a huge skid pad or autocross area. Also they have a dirt road course that one section goes through the woods. I would not suggest this dirt course for our cars. I may be going there this comming Saturday, if I go I will post a update.
