I just ordered one of these and was wondering if anyone else has tried it. http://www.gtechpro.com/ss.html#. I know the smart thing would have been to ask before I ordered it, but I saw it as a fairly cheap cool playtoy and just had to have it :D . I might have it tomorrow and if so, I'll post my opinion of it after I play with it some this weekend. Anyone else have any experience with it?

I got one. It's a cool toy, but now it's in my trunk! The mount is crap, and there's nowhere to put the thing in an SRT. I do like the blue night lighting. Cops always used to ask me what that blue light on the dash was for. Seems to be very accurate for the times, way off for some runs if you don't pull the full 1/4 mile run. I found it difficult to find a nice-safe-no-traffic-place to run repetitive 1/4 miles.

So, it came today.....but I'm not all that bright so I actually had to sit down with the book and get a line on this thing. LOL!!! I did get it mounted in the car (NOT hard....but I am running out of time) and powered up. Tomorrow I will be able to enter the configuration settings and have a go! I have very little time during the week....Weds. is the only day I have time for the car....and I ran out. It is finally here, though, and it looks pretty promising! :)

I will say this...it is smaller than I expected, but not too small. I mounted it just to the left of the steering wheel, in the lower left portion of the windshield.

I have one. It seems pretty accurate. Just make sure you get an exact weight of your car, with you in it for a precise determination of speed.

My thoughts exactly, I got mine a couple days ago and its smaller than i thought too and I mounted mine in the same place as well. I went to play with it the day I got it, but I couldnt find an open enough space to do a whole lot. I went to an old KMart parking lot, but it really isnt big enough for anything more than the 0-60 times and 60 foot times. I'm going to go looking again this weekend for some abondoned place to have some fun

I have a brand new GTech pro, in the process of installing it, I bought a permenant loging system. If anyone wants it, how about 2/3 the best price (new unit) you can find and I pay postage.

Last months Hotrod magazine showed multiple runs at a drag strip to be within 1/10 of a second of the actual measured et. Personally, I think the hp/torque function/graph is the most valuable feature.

If you want to go to the next level, Innovate now has a system that can do a/f, six external data streams, plus, torque and hp. I picked up throttle position, IAT and rpm from the pcm, plus, fuel pressure from an autometer gauge. Add the a/f input, hp and torque, and you have a rolling dyno. You can make changes such as a VEC2 and get real hp readings.

I'm with you Chad! Some of the things I read, that it will want me to do to set it up and callibrate it, make it seem like I better go find a HUGE section of closed track!! :)

i too have recently bought a product the seems amazing. complicated to understand fully but the possibilities are insane. its made by nology, the ignition component guys, called the pda dyno. you use a palm pilot, not included, to hook into the obd2 port under the dash to do tons of things and it logs all sorts of info. go to their website for the info. it checks codes and clears them as well! nice part is you download info off their supplied cd-rom for any car make you own and when you hot-sync the info to your palm you can take the palm, hook it into your viper and play, you jeep and play, then to your lexus and play. sorry to redirect the post, just had to tell you about the newest toy.
