Our experience has shown that the Optima battery does not clear the frame on most Vipers. Some have ground down the posts; thus voiding the battery's warranty. As I mentioned above, we have tried a few different types of dry cells. What we have found is that, in order to meet the minimum CCA requirements for the car, you need to get the largest/heaviest battery, and fitment can become a problem again. Case in point: Someone linked to the Odyssey site above. The only battery that meets the minimum requirements is the PC1700, and it weighs a whopping 60+lbs. In addition, our major supplier has stopped stocking many of these batteries due to defects/problems, and some of these companies going out of business. I feel confident we found the best solution out there: a lighter battery with more cranking amps, that is built to last, and fits in every Viper!!
Thanks!
