Are the front wheels on the ACR wider than an SRT10?

Tire rack lists a 295 size tire for the front of the ACR.. I was hoping to buy some Michelin Sport Cups for my 08 Viper but they dont seem to make my size (275)?

No they are the same but the sport cup tires come in the 295.

What Mark said: The Sidewinders on the ACR are the same size as your stock wheels (18 x 10 front and 19 x 13 rear). The front rims can accommodate the wider 295/30/18 rubber of the Cups.

I run a 315/30-18 up front which is a little pinched, will be trying 335 next. Yes, those tires would be better on wider wheels, but sometimes that's not an option. Would be nice if Dodge offered a 12" front wheel option.

Too high a % of new Viper owners crash their cars on their way home already; if the car actually turned better, that % would only go up. They probably figure ACR owners will be a bit more skilled and/or careful.

I can't say for GenIII but for GenII 295 fronts are a big improvement. 315 is probably ideal, or 305 if they made them. That's for the track. For the street you'd have to be doing some fairly spirited street driving or emergency stuff to get the real benefit.

Street or not, I still think the Viper should come with the fattest tire on the market.

I have run 275, 295 and 305 fronts. In combination with 345 and 335 rears (18 and 19 inch dia). The 295/345 combo seemed to be pretty well dialed in. I will let you know if the 305/335 combo works next week on the track. Hopefully I keep the nose pointing somewhat toward the front.

I ran a new set of 295s on my 06 coupe last week at the Viper Days event. I would not go back to the 275s. The car is better on turn in and feels more stable. Ken

I've run the following combos:

275, 295, 305 and 315 on the front (all 18).

335 (18) and 345 (18 and 19) rear.

My GTS and SRT seem to like the 305 / 335 combo best. I think those are the OE sizes on the comp coupe.

The fatter front tire does help turn in and high speed turning stability.

I should have mentioned that is with 11 inch front wheels in place of the stock 10 inch.
