I bought a used set for a Gen II carbon fiber hood and they don't come close to fitting.

The grills I bought fit on a highly curged surface - one that drops lower at the aft end of the grill. The hood is a flat surface.

Thanks in advance,
Tom

Thanks Chuck,

Was able to see a stock Viper hood and as I feared, my carbon fiber one has different recesses with totally flat bottoms. I figure I can trim down some stock grills so they sit on a flat surface.

Here is a grill question.... What color are they suppose to be? Gloss, Satin or flat? I want to refinish mine but want them to be the correct color.

I painted mine gloss black with some regular old crappy paint and am happy with the results, made a big difference.

Ohio - I just repainted mine a few months ago. Easy job and they look perfect. New ones would run you about $150 for both. 4 screws on the underside of the hood secure each one. Be careful not to drop them inside the hood when you remove. You can use either a magnetic screwdriver or lightly tape the screw to the end of the driver when re-attaching. In my estimation, the finish on the black was between satin and gloss. When you're in the automotive/paint store you'll just have to eye it up as best you can. As you'll see one brand's "satin" finish will be different from another's. The tops of the spray paint cans are not the best gauge. The paint I used came from AutoZone, I believe. I'll see if I can attach a pic below - Brand was "Dupli-Color", Trim Paint - OEM black.

Edit - Sorry, I can't seem to upload the damn pic. I can Email you a picture of the can if you like, though. Lemme know.
