I know many of you are sick of the constant nagging TPMS issues when owning multiple sets of wheels for street and track applications. Well, we finally have a solution coming soon that will make all your wheels work on your car, with the TPMS system functioning, AND without programming headaches!

We will be acquiring a special TPMS programmer and sensor system. Basically, you will take your primary sensor codes read at your local dealer with a DRB-III, E-Mail us a copy of the codes and the tire location, and we will program and send you a set of tire pressure sensors coded to mimic your other wheel set right out of the box, no programming needed!

Just install the sensors in your extra wheels, and swap them at will!

The car will not know the difference between the wheel sets, and will require no programming or learn time inbetween.

Is there a module that would allow this system to work in our Gen 1 and 2 cars? I looked at aftermarket systems that would work for my car, except that the sensors are grossly fat and above the rim. One close call with a curb and you'll be needing to replace the sensor since they stick out so far.

As a matter of fact there is... dont have pricing on it yet however. It could use the same sensors as the above kit, or its own, both very similar in design to the OEM sensors.

Yes, you are exactly correct, and the TPMS function will work in all wheel sets programmed in addition to.

I will be checking availability on Monday, it is possible I could have the first few sets out the door by the end of the week.

Dan I dont have the stock rims and tires on the car. Would i need to put them back on the car to get the codes? I consideration in this would be the cost of removing and re-mounting the tires. I would guess that is not cheap.

Hi Tom,

Nope, you dont. The original codes are still stored in the TPMS module in the car, and can be read with a DRB-III. You dont state whether your current wheels have TPMS sensors at all, but they can be re-created regardless by utilizing the original cose set that is stored in the system.

In reality, with this system, we could quite literally re-create you a set or more of TPMS sensors to work with your car- even if you dont own the sensor set and currently have no sensors at all installed in any of your wheels. The codes are still in the TPMS module, and thats all we need to mimc the original sensor set, as many times over as desired.

While this certainly would be ideal if starting with new rims and tires, installation is not too much. Most shops will charge 25-25 per wheel to dismount, re-mount and balance. To install, you dont have to completely remove either, just one side of the tire to install the sensor.

I think I am misunderstanding your situation- if your HRE's have sensors, they should be already set up to your car. if you have another set of wheels without sensors, or sensors that do not communicate correctly, then I can see your issue. Can you explain a little more?

if your dodge dealer is up to date on their tools, they have a tool that will read you the code right off the sensor without dismounting or even needing to check with the drb-3 all they would need is to have your set of tires there with the sensors installed in the rims IE. just as they came from the factory. no need to bring the car just the rims and tires

This is true, there is another tool that can read sensor codes. However, I think the likelyhood of dealers having a DRB-III handy would be higher than the new tool that Daveat speaks of- but in either case, they can get the job done. In any case, there should never be a reason to dismount your original programmed set, there are multiple alternatives to reading the code manually.

However, while you could certainly bring them just the rims/tires to read if they have the new style scanner, this increases the likelyhood of a mistake in code programming, as the sensor cods are not as much what we are after, as the sensors codes INSIDE your TPMS module. If by chance the wheels are incorrect, your new sensors will be wrong as well. reading it from the course will be more accurate, unless you are dead certain the wheels are programmed right.

At the programming/sensor level no- though I have never tried unplugging the TPMS module, my guess is that it will fault if you do.

I suspect that if the sensors were installed in aftermarket wheels before they were programmed, that is the problem. when installed in te rim in aftermarket setups, they are unable to be activated by the sensor "selection" tool for programming. This would prevent your codes from being entered.

Its your call- to fix the problem, your tires will have to be broken down anyway. we can write you a set ready to rock, or you can re-program yours by breaking them down and trying first. If that still doesnt work, then there is a TPMS error, though a set of pre-programmed sensors should work if the module did work at one time. On the same point, one advantage of the new sensors is that they can be programmed wirelessly- no breaking them down in the future even to re-program them for another car.

Just confirming what you typed. I bought a new set of sensors and shipped them to forgeline who installed them into my new wheels. At this point by the sounds of what you wrote above I'm not going to be able to go to the dealer and have them calibrate the new sensors????? I have yet to call the dealer because i just have not had the time but I was planning on them just calibrating the new sensors. Are you sure on this?

At this point by the sounds of what you wrote above I'm not going to be able to go to the dealer and have them calibrate the new sensors????? The issues depends 100% on what type of mounting system they use. If they mount like a factory sensor does in the edge of the rim with the stem protruding out, then you are OK, they can be programmed after the fact. If they mount inside the wheel onto the barrel like an HRE or an iForged type wheel does, then they cannot be programmed after the fact easily, if at all.

The issue stems from the activation tool for the sensor (basically a big magnet) which needs to be placed around the stem in order to "trip" the sensor into outputting. If the sensor is placed in a stock orientation, it can still be activated. sensors on the barrels have a very low success rate in trying to fiddle with them until they trip.

[This is actually another side benefit of the sensors I am offering- they can be reprogrammed wirelessly at a later date WITHOUT the "tool" that OEM sensors need, so orientation does not matter.]

Hello everyone, I just took my 08 SSG coupe to the dealer and they read the tpms codes in my wheels. Now Dan from Viper Specialty has them I will be getting my new "cloned" tire pressure sensors, SOON. NO multi codes for the car to remember and read! Just the same factory codes on both sets of wheels. What are you waiting for??? You will not find a better deal anywhere!

I HIGHLY recommend these sensors over the Dodge Sensors in their entirety, both as a "mimic" sensor set, and as a primary. The ability for the sensor to be tripped wireless is worth its weight in gold when dealing with aftermakrt wheels and inaccessible sensor configurations.
