the audio level is adequate but not high enough for me… anyone done amplifier upgrades ? i usually upgrade just the speakers and amps on my cars and this car may need it too but…. i just need to know that the signals are analog sig from head to the amp…. not some digital stuff like european cars lately….
sub is actually not too bad but the overall sound level is not enough for me….

(yeah… i know it's a track car,… and I DO love LOUD exhaust too, so save the comments… it's just that I really enjoy high fidelity /high SPL music as well and hence my post…. )

Just in case you do not know it there is an adjustment in the settings that allows the radio to automatically adjust sound based on what you are doing with the car.

There's also a huge difference in SPL between some recordings I've put on memory stick. Some you can't seem to turn up loud enough, others you have to turn down. And on some the bass feels weak, and others it's very strong. Audiophile grade recordings sound quite good with the engine off, but dynamic range and quality predictably fall off as exhaust noise increases. Cars are a tough place to reproduce music at the best of times, and the smaller the interior the worse it is.

or possibly your just going deaf from listening to extremely loud music all the time and there is nothing wrong with the sound system

Funny. And so true in many cases. The same thing can happen by driving a Viper with no cats. Too loud. Nerve damage guaranteed if ear plugs not used.

yeah... the audio system is NOT 900W...not true rms rating... i'm used to high fidelity, (high power amps) , sound system with enclosed subs through r.fosgate and JL audio spkrs.... and the factory wattage is WAY over rated... my ears are still pre good so far...although i agree...i'm likely slowly losing my hearing and i should wear a foam plug when riding my liter bikes with pre much straight pipe, and like wise in the viper.... but i sure do enjoy the exh. music and it's just not the same with an ear plug....

Re: audio level on TA models; speaker configuration

so, on g5, w/o the upgraded stereo, on a TA model, does any one know what the config is of all the speakers and locations ?
the tweeter on window sill…. the speakers on the door…what size ? where are the subwoofers ? behind seat on each side? what size?
where are the other speakers and where are the puny amps driving them… i just want to change the speakers and amps….

Honestly I have the HK oem system in my GTS and it doesnt go loud enough.

It also doesnt sound as good as a set of JL C2 series speakers with a proper amp.

The HK just lacks overall depth and warmth. Its good; but if youre going to upgrade just go aftermarket and do it right.

i love the head unit...

i want to upgrade the speakers and sub elements and push em with some proper amps...r.fosgates or JL....

i gotta see who would be able to do it right in so.calif. ...i dont' want any joeblow stereo shop to rip up my car so....

I'm assuming the complaints are from those using radio or satellite? The 18 speaker via music on my iPhone is very loud. I keep it between 12 and 15 on the volume meter when driving, and it has good bass. Although, I have noticed different cars' sound systems vary. My 2008 had better bass that a friend's 2008 coupe and another friend's 2010 coupe.

Yes; radio and sat here.

Mostly FM or HD radio.

Sat never sounds right anyway.

Ill prob make the exhaust louder and never touch the radio again.

I use Spotify or music on my iphone 95% of the time I'm driving, and it's always higher quality (same thing on my 2013 Lexus). My bluetooth is jumpy/skips, so not sure if my old iPhone5 *****, or if the car is the issue. When I plug into USB though, everything is fine.
