has anyone here replaced the factory gauges with auto meter ones? How hard is it to do and could you reuse the factory wiring to splice in to the auto meter wiring?

I think it is possible, but worth it?
I think not

I really doubt that the aftermarket gauges are just going to work off the factory wiring.
You'll lose your odo too.
However, I know for a fact that a 2 1/16" gauge will fit perfectly in the stock location for the smaller gauges. And from the looks of it, the larger gauges are 5" like the popular aftermarket ones.

Try it out and let us know ;)

You'd probably have to use the sender that the gauge came with, rather than the factory's, so I'd bet that the only wiring you could "re-use" would be for the lighting.

But give it a shot and report back - you could be a pioneer!

I just put all new Autometer gauges in my Miata and I had to wire each one, water temp, oil pressure, and boost. It's pretty easy if you have a lift. I used wire ties and that plastic corrugated hose stuff to put the wires in.

A lot of the autometer gauges are not 0-5, but 0-4.5V, therefore, you will have to use the Autometer sender.
