Autoweek flash article on Viper SRT Coupe!

Just got my Autoweek mag yesterday and the first flash states:-

"Coupe coup"
"Dodge recently surprised members of the VCA by rolling out a "concept" Viper Coupe at the group's annual meet in Texas. The blue-with-white stripes hardtop featured the same 500-hp Viper drivetrain but this one came with different body panels and a fixed roof, and a one-piece hatch glass and decklid. The car should be in production late next year as an '06 model."

So there's NO performance improvement under the hood!

This is merely speculation. I'd think that "WE" (You, Me and all of the other attentive people on the site or the two others) would hear about this sooner than any publication would. I see this more as speculation rather than fact. Think about it, a month before going to the public they reveal that its a 600/600/600 powerplant, would that excite you more than the knowledge today that it will have the same powerplant. The art of building excitement is dropping little 'subtle' (<-The Viper?? ) hints about the car one tidbit at a time. Relax, I think you know more about the concept coupe than the publication or publications plural do.

The car was shown all of what?? a week ago! It still baffles me how at this point people can start thinking production info is anywhere near being finalized.

Well given the lack of information from Dodge, I'd have to go with what's in print. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed. And I just found the article on Autoweek's website.

At VOI8, they said the concept coupe had the same engine, etc. as the SRT-10 (it is just a concept, remember!), but they also said they would stay ahead of the pack, so it is pretty clear it won't retain the 500HP, surely it will go up.

Dodge recently surprised members of the Viper Club of America by rolling out a "concept" Viper Coupe at the group’s annual meet in Texas.

First off, VOI is NOT a VCA event!! VOI is open to ALL viper owners and not just VCA members. Secondly, the event is NOT annual!! And its NOT always in Texas as the article leads you to believe!

So I have to ask, do you still want to take whats in print as factual information??
