Thanks for posting Guys, that's Big Time News! I know I would have Never thought it would be struggling to that extent. Seems like with all the big boys that use that track to test their cars, that they would have had to be making a lil' coin. jmo

Well, the best I was able to glean from the link Lespauldude gave is we have nothing to worry about. The ring is just a facet of the whole thing over there... and more importantly, the only thing that generates revenue.
That said, if it makes money, it aint goin' nowhere!

I also understand that a private company is planning to build a replica of the 'ring near Las Vegas. Same curves and elevations changes. Could be used for both recreation and as serious product develpoment by manufacturers.

Hmm, I guess the real cost is in trying to ferry your car over.
I believe you'd be smart to rent a car over there instead. Sounds like a great vca outing!

I'm seeing fee's for public rental times but not a private complete shutdown like car manufacturers do so they are alone on the track.
That was my question.

I do remember Dick Winkles gave a real nice 45 minute power point presention on the whole ring trip experience. He presented it at the ohio fall party at snookes dream cars. If I recall correctly, for some reason 4k sticks out in my mind. He was going over details, various costs, weather problems etc and 4k seems to jump out at me. (but don't quote me on that.
