I just about fell out of my chair yesterday when they sold a 1963 Camaro/Z28 for over $110,000

Cheers
Jeff

P.S Andy great avatar pic :2tu:
Like the announcers said though don't count on that ever happening again. It was a prime example of 2 guys getting way to carried away going after a car.

The prices they paid for older Chevys and Corvettes were wild, but the prices they paid for the old MOPARs were even higher! Can't believe the Vipers went so low.

I am stunned at the prices these cars are going for here. I was sitting with Tim Allen before and after he bought a modified *****'s. He was as excited as a little kid.I also spoke with Bruce Meyers, a big collector who was sitting this one out. He said it was a good place to "sell" a car. When a 58 Chevy went for over 200 I thought I saw it all but then the Lincoln Zephyr went for 400. Craig Jackson is walking around here in the rain with a giant smile on his face. Sure wish I had kept my 66 Chevelle SS 396. This auction will affect the prices of muscle cars for a while.

I liked it when it got down to two guys(one was the guy in the gold suit jacket), and the auctioneer looked at the other, when it was 95k, and said 'If you go another thousand, I can get another 4k out of him.' Sure enough he went to 96k, and he got even more out of the guy in the gold suit.

With these prices, I may have to sell some of my collection next year. I think part of the reason for the high prices is that (at least until this year) the stock market has been down and many people have not put new money in. There is therefore a lot of cash "burning a hole" as they say.

Then no wonder that '63 Camaro brought so much. I think that's cheap. Sure wish I'd kept my 1987 Viper. Just to think what she'd be worth today makes me mad.

I watched some of the coverage. I was surprised to see that some of the biggest dollars seemed to go to the old cars with mods to them as long as the mods were in keeping with the time period of the car. Makes you wonder if all the guys afraid to make any changes to their Vipers for fear of affecting possible future value are really doing themselves a favor.

I was blown away by the prices on the solid axle corvettes. The value on these cars is on fire!

Did anyone notice the damage that happened to the white 'Lambo in the first tent? What a shame, It had to be withdrawn from the auction. How did it happen?

Was it in some type of accident? I just thought it was a piece of junk to begin with- looked very very tired in my opinion. :smirk:
