I'm selling a rear ACR rim in the classifieds when I get this e-mail:

From: "John Robson" <[email protected]> Add to Address Book
To: [email protected]
Subject: Re Advertised "ACR BBS Rear Rim" at $800.00
Date: Wed, 30 Jun 2004 20:46:51 +0100

We are interested in buying your above mentioned rims at advertised
rate.
Goods to be picked up from your location for onward shipping to London.
Cost
and modalities of shipping to be born by us.

Payment for the purchase is by check through a debtor in US. The debtor
owes us higher than our purchase. He will therefore be sending you a
check
for $5,000 to cover the cost of our order, as well as the Shipping
costs.

On receipt of the check, you will cash and deduct the cost of our order
.The
balance you will send as we would instruct you to the Agency that will
ship
the Goods to us. If this arrangement suites you fine, please send us
your
address where to send the check, as well as the name to be on it. Also
send
us your phone number for easy communication.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you.

Best Regards

MR. JOHN ROBSON.

If people are still getting fooled by this scam then we seriously need laws prohibiting certain people from reproducing.

I guess the Nigerian gangs have quit sending the goofy faxes to businesses and have directed their attention to individuals on eBay.

Perhaps this response:

Thank you. The arrangement seems reasonable. In order to speed the transactions up, please forward to me your bank account details so I can do a test transfer of funds to you.

To demonstrate that this is legitimate, you should know that I am the son of Prince Ali Wab Gooby of Burundi. The Prince has been exiled by the government there and all our families funds are ******* in probate in the Royal Bank of Botswana. If I can transfer these funds to you, a sum of $10,000,000 USD, and you are willing to repatriate these funds to me here in the USA, I will provide you a commission of 10% or $1,000,000 for helping me access these locked funds.

Please forward your bank account information to me so I can arrange the transfer of this ten million USD to you as a gesture of good faith.

Of course for authenticity you'd need to bugger-up the spelling a bit. :)

I'm not going to waste the energy responding to the e-mail. I would rather spend the time informing others to look out for any of these scams :D

Good one Drumr. I am going to use that in my reply to some of these whacky emails I get from Barristers in Nigeria telling me my relative has been killed in a car crash and that he has $10mill in the bank and they need my account number. LOL!!!

I got the same one this morning.
I told the guy that I was unfamiliar of this type of transaction and I would like him to write in greater detail... and more in detail... and more in detail...

I will shorten this dude's fingers by about one inch....
