ok, got car back from alarm installation company.
Of course its just before rush hour, but hey, when I hit the bridge a 3rd lane opens on the right that no one uses!
PERFECT, I jump to the right and floor it!
WHEWWW! Whata Ride!

Well little did I know that I passed an unmarked police car! :bonker:
I lost em so qwik he called ahead to catch me in the next town!

2 cars pull me over, tell me about the unmarked and the 127 radar catch  ,,,

I figured I'm dead...
they have a conference at the back of their squad car, laughing and then
the serious look after their radio goes off from headquarters.

They both put one hand on their guns and walk towards my car from both sides.....

He hands me my licence and tells me;
we understand you have to get on it, but try and do it when no one's around!!! :2tu:

Hi. Let me make sure I understand your post. You came out of traffic and there was still traffic in the two lanes to the left of you. You proceeded to accelerate rapidly to 127 MPH while passing on the right. If this is correct, you are very lucky that someone talking to someone on a cell phone didn't cut in front of you. There would have been multiple fatalities. You are also lucky that you did not have any equipment failure that led to a loss of control. We all like to enjoy our cars, but there have been too many incidents lately where a Viper and/or its driver never returned from the enjoyment. Your luck with the police should not be perceived as a permission slip to repeat the behavior. Keep the high speed to a location where the only one you have to worry about is yourself if something goes wrong. Just my two cents.

Hi,Glenn, man this was your lucky day,and possibly in more ways than one! While I'm glad you didn't get a ticket(you did know that over 100 in this state is usually "go to jail time",didn't you?),full throttle in the right lane in rush-hour traffic was/is not a good idea! This would be especially true if you were where I think you were(that thought makes me cringe!)Not exactly the best choice of a place to play.I know how stable the Viper feels at that speed, but if just one little thing goes wrong,or someone else does something unanticipated, bad things can happen too fast for anyone to recover!I don't want this to sound like a lecture, but I don't want to see any of our own here end up splattering themselves and their Snake along the road.I rejoice in your good fortune-but please be safe!

I know, I know, it wasn't "rush hour" traffic, but it was a lil(lot) stupid I admit.
Its not my normal driving, i just went nutty and got snagged. I hadn't stepped on the car like that since i got it!
I keep saying it over and over, This is not your grandad's corvette!

I feel lucky and well warned.
From now on, that IS my 2 a.m. spot though!

I feel for you except i got busted going 141 by a FEMALE CHP cop. I pulled over right away and just smiled knowing i was dead. She didn't say one word and gave me a ticket for "excess of 100mph" I took the ticket gladly knowing she could of locked me up for reckless driving. I was to embarrassed to tell her i'm a x nypd cop.

The ticket was $1200 but with my bad judgement it could of been much more expensive posting bond

Now i just leave it to Willow Springs to have fun!

I'm not going to call you a liar but I'm not going to believe you either, because I don't want to get a false sense of "lucky" in the unlikely event that I ever get caught exceeding the posted speed limit.

127 is pretty fast on what I understand was before rush hour. It is good that you did not get a reckless driving ticket. Please don't kill anyone out there.

I wonder if they were bluffing you and missed getting you on the radar. Anyway, glad to hear it.

I read where the best way to get out of a ticket is to be honest and treat the cop like a human. They deal with lying A-hole all day everyday, but they too like to drive fast and if given the inkling they give you a warning like you got.

Also, unbutton your shirt a little. It works for may wife:)

Cops love for people to believe that. It makes it easier for them to simply write the ticket and move on to the next victim.

But the odds of getting stopped by a cop that is human is remote. In which case, it is better to play the odds in your favor and deny everything. The burden of proof is with the cop. If you admit anything the cops have you by the ballz. NEVER EVER admit anything to a cop. Make them prove it.

I can actually beat it! lol I've had it happen twice in the last two months! I was racing Prashant Patel in my turbo, and we passed a cop doing 140! He was off to the side helping a car that was stranded. Didn't see him until after we went by. He had a buddy waitign for us up the road. They pulled us over, chatted a bit, and let us go.

Earlier this week I was coming home from the bars in the Gallardo, and found a nice open spot near my house. It was really late, and there wasn't another car in site, so I opened it up. At somewhere North of 150 I passed a cop that was parked on a side road with his lights off. I was only a few blocks from my house, so he came after me, guessed at my street, and followed me into the driveway. I got out and they asked me if I knew how fast I was going. "Pretty damned fast, huh?!" was my reply. They said my car sounded great, and they just wanted to see if they could catch me to check it out. Didn't even ask for my DL or insurance! Told me to have fun! UnFREAKINbelievable!

I have had a VERY lucky couple of months!

I wasn't in a Viper when I did this and from the story above I will NEVER DO THAT!

(Younger days) I had a nice car but still a piece of crap compared to the Viper, O.K. it was a 302 Maverick Grabber with the headers rumbling, it was about 10PM on a Friday night and me and my bud where doing about 90 when we spotted four cops sitting across the highway shootin the bull, naturally I let off the gas just in time for the back-pressure to come roaring out of the pipes.

First right hand side road I come to we turn off and stomp on it, turns out the road is dirt and also a DEAD END! About this time the headlights coming onto the dirt road could be seen through the dust cloud now engulfing the deserted dead end street that only pure brilliance could have chosen.

At this point folks the jig is up, so I tell Roger my co-pilot to get out of the car and lean against the back bumper with hands clearly visible (Roger Complies and says your F*(#!d now Danny, I told him to be quite!)

Lead dog cop pulls up and waves off the other guys (Don't ask me why?) Maybe because he was about 6'6" and had no fear of a couple of idiots, anyway he proceeds to ask me how fast I thought I was going and I said Oh about 90, then he asks why did you turn down this street, I said because we figured you saw and heard us and were headed our way.

Next question, where you coming from (You guessed it) The bar! How many drinks? A couple, Heh Heh Heh (Told you I was Brilliant, then he asks where you headed, I say home.

About this time he is looking at my license and asking about my expired tags, I did mail off for the sticker and it was in the mail so I told him so.

He looks at both me and Roger (I was a reservist with short hair) and he says you take this car straight home and don't let me catch you out here again! I totally agreed and he let US GO!

Poor Roger, he had recently been pulled over on Christmas eve after really only having 2 beers and got a DUI. He would not shut up about how lucky I was, I couldn't believe it either.

By the way it takes 15 minutes to get from Disney to Orlando at 120 MPH, some people never learn Heh Heh Heh.

Now that I'm getting the 98 RT I'm going to have to really pay attention, good thing I gave up drinking 5 years ago as the Viper will demand as much driving ability as it delivers in the speed dept.

I always learn something from these stories and I promise never to speed in the slow lane.
