BELANGER VS CORSA??

Ive already installed the Corsa catback system, I cant say enough good about it, sounds incredible compared to stock. Im considering Belanger headers and keeping OEM cats, any input on how much louder this will make my viper? idle, WOT, etc? Ive just put over 5K into the stereo so i would like to enjoy it as well, is this possible if I install Belangers and keep OEM cats? Can i have the best of both worlds. LOL?

I tried to reply via e-mail, unsuccessfully.

We have +numerous+ Belanger/Corsa combos running around, with owners (and spouses and neigbors) completely happy.

There are a couple of cat-mods you can make:

--The 'sausage solution' cust off the ends of the OE to make it cooler, flow a but better and a bit cooler. Still restrictive and quiet. Almost free, labor only.

--HF cats in 3 flow rates can also be a benefit but add $250-$320-$599. Latter for HiPerf motors only, 550HP+

I have the Belanger Headers and Corsa 3". I started with high flow cats, idle sounded great and any amount of acceleration sounded race car like but ended up being louder than I wanted. I put the stock cats back on but opened up the ends to 3", to my ears sounds much better, still a great sound but now not as raspy better for listening to stereo and long drives. The amount of power lost going from high flow cat to stock cat opened to 3" is negligible you can't feel it on a stock motor. Also I don't panic anymore when a cop is near. Under acceleration (light or heavy) high flow cats are very loud.

I followed JonB's sage advice and put Belanger headers on my car,while keeping the OEM cats(expanded at the tips). Great sound at idle...great sound at WOT...great sound at deceleration.

Get with JonB...he really knows his stuff...
