Ben Keating, two time SRT Viper Cup champion and owner of Tomball Dodge and ViperExchange, has stepped forward to purchase and campaign one of the new SRT Viper GT3-Rs in the GTD (GT Daytona) class in the new United Sports Car Racing series (the new, merged series made up of the ALMS and Grand Am). The GTD class consists of the current Grand Am GT cars, Grand Am GX class cars, and GT3 spec cars. It is also includes the porsche cup cars that currently run in the spec GTC class in the ALMS.
It sounds like the program will be factory assisted by SRT and Riley Technologies, so should be a great run. Next year should be an exciting season to watch, with the Viper GTS-Rs and GT3-Rs mixing it with the best of them in two different classes. The season opens with the 24 hours of Daytona event, followed by the 12 hours of Sebring. The Vipers are back!
