yeah, I agree. I do miss the Gen I Viper I had, but when I went to a genII..it was real nice!! Windows are cool!..way cool!...I still get nervous when I am inside shopping when the Viper is out in the parking lot. But not as nervous when I had my 1994 rt/10 with no windows.

Well yesterday I rented the viper my boss paid for. At first it was tight for me to drive. Being a big guy I was cramped in there and it didn't seem like there was any room to move the seat back. Later on in the day I found out the seat wasn't all the way back and I had a bit of room to move it. Boy that made a world of difference. Before I decide to buy a viper I have some questions for you guys. I live here in Las Vegas where there is alot of crime and am concerned about securing the car. So how do you lock a viper? Most criminals can get past a simple alarm. The vehicle is a sitting duck with no real windows or top on it, which is how I would use the car most of the time. Do you guys ever worry about going out to dinner and not having your car there when you come back? Does anyone know how much this car will cost to register and insure(I'm 30 yrs old) based on the MSRP for a 1994 R/T? Here in Vegas they base the cost of registration on MSRP. Do you guys drive your viper everyday or just on the weekends. I will have to drive this everyday. I did love driving the car and it was the easiest stick I have ever driven. I am glad I finally got to drive it. I am rethinking the idea of buying one of these cars for my every day car. Everyone's opinions would be greatly appreciated.

In Vegas I would not suggest you have a viper as a daily driver at least not a GEN I. The heat is blistering and you will literally be dripping wet most of the year. I have many times been in vegas on the strip in a regular car and had a rental viper pull up next to me...long story short..the conversation ALWAYS ends with man I wish it wasnt soooo hot. If you lived in a milder climate the old RT could pass as a daily driver, but in the desert it will be too much of a hassle, even with a hard top and AC I just don't see how enjoyable it can be. I live in Los Angeles and I never have the windows or top on, obviously I can't drive on rainy days but I also RARELY drive on days when the temperature is above 85, simply because it gets too hot and I end up being soaking wet. Most of my time in the viper is in the spring, fall, and dry winter days. Buy yourself a POS (integra/civic/anything for a few $1000) daily driver. You should be able to drive the viper most of the year but will need the POS for rainy/wet days and the hot summer.

As far as insurance, I am now 28, have had the viper (not a secondary vehicle on the plan) for 3 years, my premium is ~$1600 a year and that includes my parents and 25 year old sister. registration this year was about $250. Hope this helps.

If you have a top on and the windows in, how do you open the doors??? I have a second car, but I would still like to feel alittle safe when I am not in the car. I will only drive the car to work and for fun, other than that we will take the wifes car. I need as much input and help on this issue. Can anyone give me there number or email it to me [email protected] so I can talk to them in more debt.
