Just have a muffler shop delete the muffler and put a H or X pipe in. Take the top off and the rear window out and drive it for a while to see how you like it. It's really a decent sound after it's warmed up.

Instead of pulling out the rear **** and increasing drone, remove the two side resonators. The remaining factory rear muffler will act like a crossover.

I agree with Chuck. I deleted my muffler (replaced w/straight pipe) and had the factory tips welded back on to retain the stock appearance. I like the sound 100% more than stock. Think I paid $100. Be sure to keep your muffler if you ever need it welded back on to pass emissions

Removing muffler should not have any affect on emisions. If your state has noise testing, it would affect that, but emisions, no. Only removing the catalytic converter (CAT) affects emmisions. Side note, "technically" any change that affects emisions is against federal regulations if done within the design life of the emisions system (I'm thinking 60,000 miles or five years?) :)
