Even if you faithfully use Chevron w/ Techron, you should consider adding a bottle of Techron thru the gas tank before every other oilchange! Ensures no surging / leaning out of cylinders due to clogged or varnished injectors.

Chevron's additive isn't the only quality aftermarket detergent technology available. STP's product line uses some very robust chemistry as well.
If I tell you how I know this, I'd have to kill you.
In any case, try to plan to use these products just before you change your oil. A fair amount of what you put into the gas tank will find it's way into the oil, and it's not the same as blowby. The additives are big and heavy and hit the cylinder wall upon entry into the combustion chamber, and are then saved by the oil film from the high heat of combustion. Next stroke, they're wiped into the oil. Since the additives are heavy, they will not boil off like gasoline does. If you plan your use just before an oil change, then at the end of the tank, whatever got into the oil will be drained out as well.

i run sunoco 94 every time do too need a cleaner additive????

Want to point out that octane has nothing to do with cleanliness. Higher octane doesn't automatically mean it burns cleaner or dirtier, nor does it mean higher quality, nor does it mean it cleans up deposits. Octane is only that- resistance to preignition or self-detonation.
Detergent additives are what keep engines clean or (with enough additive) clean them up. Some fuel marketers put detergents in at the minimum legal amount, some put in more. Some put more in the premium, others put the same amount in all three grades.
Unfortunately it's difficult to tell from advertising if the additive treat rate is high or low... although if the ads say anything about cleanliness, it's a better sign than if they don't.

Tom is correct. Petroleum refiners blend detergent additives into all grades of fuel. However, regular grades typically contain "keep clean" levels while premium grades contain "clean up" levels. The latter essentially serving to clean up fouled injectors over time.
