Looking back over previous posts, I think that high-flow cats will cool it down without adversely affecting the sound too much - assuming you leave the rest of the exhaust stock. Might pick up a few ponies as well. I would then do the K&N filter/tube, 3.55 gears, and look into heads/cam. I am told that the 3.55 gears make it a whole different car and really "wake it up."

David, I hear that a Twin Turbo set up will quiet the car down since it uses the exhaust to power itself :)

PS: Geeez, I JUST got back my DLM car (haven't driven it in a week) AND just got my SRT-10 (only drove it once)and I have to head to work. Which to take -- the new car or the 1000+ HP adrenaline maker.... Argh!

Hey David - you're in exactly the same boat as am I! We've had the heads mildly ported, swapped the stock lifters for the low-bleeddown variety, and added a K&N intake. With that config the SRT put down 475 RWHP / 509 RWTQ, and the car literally still drives/sounds like stock, except that it picks up and runs above 3200 RPM. I'll be putting on 3.55 rear gears next week, and will report once they're on.
