while putting my new HRE 547s on this afternoon i realized i probably should do the shocks when i do my eibochs, so; what are the best shocks for our vipers? mine is a daily driver and i am going to start putting it on the track at mid ohio regularly as of april. i want the best of both worlds if possible; handling/performance and smooth ride/stability. input please

The best method is probably to do -------- nothing. Lowered springs cause some compromises for track cars, and unless your are a technical wiz , the
ability to adjust properly at each track comes with alot of experience. ACR's were lowering their settings one inch at first and bottoming out on some
courses , so the rule of thumb was found to be no more that 3/4 inch drop. I would get a competition alignment , work on tire pressures, and save the
money on stocks and springs ---- especially since brake upgrades are much more important on the Snake.

Don't forget that the stock shocks for the Viper are adjustable and come set at a very mild setting. I am in the process of adjusting mine currently. If you will have the springs off anyways, it is a breeze to adjust them.

bill, im confused; i would think an inch of lowering (eiboch) would only enhance the performance of the viper.

jeff; thnx for the info, i did not know the stock shocks were adjustable; what is best setting for daily driver/occasioanl roadcourse?

From my few years on the board I don't think anyone knows much about this subject. I got interested in adjusting them after reading this thread:
http://vca2.viperclub.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB14&Number=109636&Forum=All_Forums&Words=spring%20compressor&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=allposts&Main=109636&Search=true#Post109636

I have got the front two adjusted, going to start on the back ones tonight. I am trying Joel's recommendation of 1 1/4 turns.
