Best viper bra\'s?

I have a trip planned in the viper and wanted to use a bra to protect the car. Who makes the best bra? If the Mopar one is good, go ahead and just send me one Mr. Viper Wizard!

Thanks!

Re: Best viper bra\'s?

I just bought my Viper, and I did a 3M clear bra (just like I have on my Supra, served well for years, now) . . . a hair expensive, but great for all around driving, storing (and still looking good), it's permanent though. From distance, it's virtually invisible. Something to think about.

Sorry.... I should have stated, I'm picking up another viper so it will need to be a quick install bra.

BTW, love the 3M bra.

Re: Best viper bra\'s?

Hey Cody,
I have the Mopar bra. Fits great... I have used it on a few occassions, but each time, after I got home and took it off, I found that there was debris, pebbles, sand, etc.. that got between the bra and the front end. The stuff enters in through the big fog light cut outs as well as through the mesh for the radiator. The debris makes its way down and ends up scratching the paint. I sewed in material to cover up the fog light holes so the debris can't get in from those points any more. (I did this before a track event so fog lights weren't used anyhow) Now before I put the bra on, I put some Blue painters masking tape on the leading edge of the front end so that any debris that does enter in from the meshed area won't scratch up the front end.

I have the Speed Lingerie bra which is color matched to the car. Fit, quality and service is outstanding. Easy on and off with no tools. Many compliments on the color match and look. www.speedlingerie.com

I have the Mopar bra as well and agree completely with the above. One more thing to consider. If you're traveling, it's quite possible you could run into rain. It is literally impossible to keep road dirt from not getting behind the bra and onto / into the felt when you hit rain------which means it has to come off when you stop for the night. When wet, it definitely presents a cleaning problem before re-installing. If you don't reintsall--it takes up precious room. The mesh also picks up LOTS of bugs, as intended, but instead of using your hydrogen peroxide spray, or high pressure car wash on the fascia, they have to be brushed off the mesh as best you can. All in all, I found the bra to be a pain to keep clean and also potentially damaging to the front end unless kept clean. I can see it as being excellent for track use, but for trips with potential weather issues.....not so good.

All that being said, I'll sell you mine for $50 bucks if interested. I'll never use it again. I bought it 2 years ago from a guy who used it once. It was as he said -- like new. I paid $115 for it. I used it in 2005 maybe half a dozen times. I never used the hood part --it's new. ...Sat in the box all last year where it remains today.

Re: Best viper bra\'s?

It sounds like the Mopar one won't be great since I am planning on hitting some rain. The Speedlingerie looks great and sounds like it would work, but now you guys got me thinking about all the road dirt that will get behind there on a long trip. It might be best just to go without a bra.

You guys have been a big help.

THANKS!

I am going to do my first track events this year. How good of an idea would it be to have a bra on for those days?

I think it's a pretty good idea for track days. The offer above stands. I think a Mopar bra is about $150 new. I've also seen a heavy duty Saran wrap sort of thing that some use on the nose for track days.

Re: Best viper bra\'s?

That gives me a great idea. I might just take some clear sign vinyl and put it on real quick. That should help a bunch for the few days of bad weather.

Someone should get the bra for $50.... could be nice to have on those track days.

I have been looking at ordering one of these for my viper, are there any down sides to this brand except of course the price? I have had Colgan Bras on my vans and I have one on my Denali and The Colgan brand is great but they do not make one for the Viper and they don't color match only comes in black. I want a bras that I can count on to do no harm to the Viper especially since it is brand new and I want to get something for it befor the driving season is here.
Thanks :D :2tu:
