Brake squeal

I just bought a 2002 ACR on Saturday. Love the car. The brake or brakes squeal. At lower speeds, as I stop at a stop sign.

The dealer says it's "normal". Because of it's high speed capability, the brake pads have a lot of "steel" in them. Does this ring triue with you experienced guys?

Yes it's normal, the back brakes squeal the most. There are pads you can replace them with to stop the squeaks, I forget the name EBsomethingorother do a search.

The squeal is normal. If you search the forum you will see tons of topics and posts on the subject, and the cures described in great detail as well. Some of the replacement pads will also cut down somewhat on the brake dust. Congratulations and Welcome!!!! Best of luck with your new snake. Enjoy, and be careful.

I have no squeek in my 01. Had some tiny bit for about 1000 or so miles, then none.

01 GTS.Brake squeal went away after I began using them harder. Bruce

i had squeaks in mine at 5000 miles. do yourself a favor. for $150 and no more than a couple hours mechanic time get a pair of ebc greenstuffs. they run much cleaner and will save you the annoying task of having to clean those bbs wheels so often. i just had mine done. i'm very happy with the results.
