During last weekends Dragracing in Norway, did I break the Differential, or exactly the two Pinion Gears. Is this a common problem when Dragracing the Viper, or... My 60-footers are quite good (1.50 to 1.57) so I assume the load on the gears is massive.
Is there a stronger, better, lighter etc. Differential available? Not for Road racing, I need something that works well on the Dragstrip.

I'm competing in the SuperStreet class and the Index is fixed to 10.90, so my Viper is set up to do 10.90, wich it does all day...

Check with Mark Williams Enterprises in Louisville CO,

www.markwilliams.com

big NHRA sponsors and serious drag racing gears / suspension components. Conversion to Ford 9inch - if class rules allow - would be your best bet - it's bulletproof.

303 665-6901, ask for Mark or Amy and tell them Joe sent you.

First off, with those 60' times you will break stuff from time to time. Nice times, but you get to pay as you play

That said, I believe your '95 came with a Dana 44 rear end. The newest Vipers ('99+ ?) have been upgraded to a Dana Super 44, which is a stronger piece. If you want a super-simple, drop-in upgrade that would probably be your best path. Beyond that, you'll probably want to upgrade both the diff and the tranny, since they're both weak links once you start launching really hard...

M/t DOT slicks...the same as all other Dragracers on the board. I have Eibach springs and the original Konis revalved to SPA-1 specifications.
RWP is about 575-590hp to reach my 10.90 times.

Ben, what is different with the Dana 44 Super, I belive they just upgraded the bolt pattern. What seems to be the weak point here is the Spider gears in the Limited slip.
Actually been considering an auto for next season...we'll se.

Cheers

My best sixty on M/T DOTs is 1.45. Best ET is 11.05 on a stock motor with headers and 3.55. I go thru U Joints regularly but no problems with center section. Yet!
