Sounds to me like the Sept 2000 Viper you described is an 2001 model year WITH ABS...there is a small black tube coming off the check valve area, heading down, then back to the firewall. Also, the actual brake lines come off the bottom LEFT side of the master cylinder, and go under it then down toward the frame, then head forward toward the ICU in the fascia. There is also a brake fluid sensor on the LEFT side of the reservoir...which is more oval in shape then the reservoir used on non-ABS years.
Therefore, at a glance, they are QUITE different.
If you need more, let me know. I decided to try to take some photos (which was NOT easy because of the smallness of the lines), got carried away and photographed the 95, 96, 97, 99, and 01 for comparison and attempts at clarity. Will get photos developed tomorrow, and see if they are any good.
