build date for ABS?

Can any one please tell me the build date when Vipers all became equipped with ABS?

ABS started with the 2000 model year...don't know exact date, but late Aug-early Sept of 2000 seems close. Do you need EXACT date ??

Yes please would like exact month...with out looking for the ABS module in behind front left fascia, and ABS flash up on instrument module on initial turn key (?), are there any details at wheels / engine bay? Saw an 09 / 2000 GTS it had an little extra pipe joined into the vacuum pipe from the inlet manifold to the brake servo?

ABS started on 2001 models...NOT 2000. 2001 & 2002 use a different master cylinder than earlier models.

Would a 09/2000 be classed as a 2001 model year?

Matt, I 'think' (my memory isn't good after 2xKO'd!) the master cylinder was much the same as prior years? What about that extra pipe, can people pop their hoods and look-see please?

I would BET that Sept 2000 build date would be a 2001 model year...therefore, have ABS...might ask JonB, or Bill Pemberton. Can pop the hood on a 97, 99, and 01 for you...please tell me EXACTLY what you want to know...or send me an e-mail with a contact number, and I'll call you from the garage.

Thanks Steve. Can you tell me please if the brake master cylinder differs on the 2001 to that of either of the others, and if there an extra small black pipe from the valve on the servo? ...I would like to know what are the visual differences under hood on an ABS equipped Viper?

Sounds to me like the Sept 2000 Viper you described is an 2001 model year WITH ABS...there is a small black tube coming off the check valve area, heading down, then back to the firewall. Also, the actual brake lines come off the bottom LEFT side of the master cylinder, and go under it then down toward the frame, then head forward toward the ICU in the fascia. There is also a brake fluid sensor on the LEFT side of the reservoir...which is more oval in shape then the reservoir used on non-ABS years.

Therefore, at a glance, they are QUITE different.

If you need more, let me know. I decided to try to take some photos (which was NOT easy because of the smallness of the lines), got carried away and photographed the 95, 96, 97, 99, and 01 for comparison and attempts at clarity. Will get photos developed tomorrow, and see if they are any good.
