I am now a Viper owner! Sold the Z06, and got lucky enough to find a local B/W 97 GTS with 18000 miles. The guy had all the service records and service manuals, and also gave me a new set of Kumhos. Great guy. I love the car.

I've done several searches on the subject of cabin drone, but never saw any conclusive solutions. Is there any one or two things that absolutely work?
I read something about isolating the pipes, but not any more detail or if someone offers a kit.
I've read things about soundproofing, but not sure how well it would work on drone. Its not the noise, I love that, its the drone that I'm trying to quiet somehow.

The car has a Borla catback and Edelbrock headers. It drones pretty loud in the 2500 RPM range. Any new ideas that don't weigh too much :smirk:

All of the "B" systens drone, especially on the GTS.

Corsa is the way to go for drone free driving.

May be a used system for sale by someone here or try any of our supporting vendors.

We have a Borla cat-back system on a 99 ACR and on a 01 GTS...both sound better than stock, but have significant drone 2200-2500 RPM.

Our 97 GTS has a Corsa cat-back...NO drone!!!!!

Well I had the Borla on my 2001 GTS and the drone was intollerable. I had a muffler shop modify it three times and it did lower the volume a lot, but the car still droned too much for me.

I also applied B-Quiet which is a sound deadener but it did not really help with the drone. It helps more with road noise. No sound barrier is strong enough to prevent the Drone!

I recently put a corsa on with factory cats and it sounds great!

You will love it.

Mine drones at 15 - 1800 with the full B & B system and high flow cats, especially in higher gears going up hill. Quiet at higher rpms.

I've added the Vortex cones and they helped a little. Next up, rear mufflers, one for each side back at the rear where the stock resonators were.

Good luck,

Dan

The Corsa with high flow cats also has a slight drone. With stock cats it's perfect

Agreed, Corsa with stock cats is the way to go for no drone. I had B&B on the GTS and had lots of drone at certain RPM ranges, moved the B&B to the RT/10, and put Corsa on the GTS. Now, no drone on either.
