I am curious if anyone has had any failures since these posts. Now that I have an ACR I am keeping an eye on mine and revisiting old threads.

My aero coupe never had issue or developed any pops/noises.

Great thread with great info.

Remember that it is not the rivets that hold the pistons to the car. It is adhesive. It is the adhesive that fails not the rivets. The rivets are more for positioning the strut. If you read the TSB posted in post 53 you'll see that the instructions are to re-apply adhesive.

Yes, the strut on a friend's 08 ACR failed last year and I pointed this thread out to him so he would be aware of the issue. So far, I have not had any problems with my 09 ACR. I am extremely careful in slowly opening and closing the rear deck lid. Hopefully that will help.

To be clear, this thread is from 2011, there is no new problem. SRT addressed the problem with this TSB.

The TSP is linked in post 52.

Let's not make this look like a new problem.
