Hello,

As I get closer and closer to start looking for my future car. I thought it would be a good idea to get to know current owners of the car I'll be looking for very soon. So if you own a Venom Red SRT10 I'd like you to say hello and if possible to share pictures/video of your car. I've been looking all over the place for pictures and videos as I haven't been lucky enough to see one in person yet (I've seen yellow, viper red, white and black in person). I'm trying to get a very good idea of how the color changes on different light conditions, etc. So pics/videos of both vert and coupe will work. Although I'm going vert. If you are thinking about putting your venom red vert for sale soon PM me your information.

One would think this being the highest produce color of 2008 it would be easier to find one locally (within 200 miles) just to see it in person but that is not the case. So if anyone has one near Kirkland, WA I'd love to arrange something just to see the car in person. I could probably post in the regional section but I wanted to address a broader audience as the main purpose of the thread is to get to know several owners and get as much pictures and videos as possible.

In the next 2-3 months I'll start actively looking for the car, there are a few out there for sale right now in (cars.com, autotraders.com, craiglist, ebay, etc.) but I'm not quite ready yet to pull the trigger. Long time ago I decided that if I was going to get it I wouldn't finance for it and I'm sticking with that goal.

To make the thread less boring and get the party started I'll post a few of my favorites videos and pics of other people cars. Note some of the videos are lame but the car looks great.

You mean you liked my VR Coupe enough to post it in your thread(with my former Red CTS-V in the backround), but not enough to make me an offer?:)

In my defense I wasn't ready before :) and I'm going vert. I love the looks of the coupe but I want to be able to take the top down.

Vipers a viper and I love it simply for that but man oh man that coler just does nothin for me..

It dosent look classy like a silver or white...

It dosent look racey like a yellow, ssg green or orange...

It dosent look mean like a black....

It dosent look classic like red or blue...

It just dosent fit in anywhere for me???????????????????????????????????

But maybe thats why you like it so much?

I belieave that coler is a bit less valuable than the other color gen4s. How that will play out 8 years from now is unknown but just be aware...

Still a viper though:usa::usa::usa::rolaugh::rolaugh::rolaugh::D:D:D

It's a beautiful color that has to be seen in person, pictures don't do it justice.

...says the guy who has documented the destruction of any value of his Viper by posting tons of videos on YouTube that document such things as pouring water in his power steering reservoir to diagnose a leak?

Forgive me if I don't trust your judgment on anything car-related.

Venom Red does not photograph well, but is a stunning car color. When you put blacks wheels on the car it really looks good. The 1 solid ACR that was built looks awesome. You will love this color.

The one thing I've noted with mine is that the brake caliper color really clashes with the Venom Red, and is something I will end up fixing when I get the time/energy (they'll be powder coated or painted black instead). That was also the first question my wife asked me when I went to look at it: "Does it bother you that the brake calipers don't match the car?" My answer was no at the time, but I haven't been able to get that question out of my head since.

One would think this being the highest produce color of 2008 it would be easier to find one locally (within 200 miles) just to see it in person but that is not the case.

Overall, on the Gen III and Gen IV platform, only 3.8% of the cars were done Venom Red. Viper Red was the largest produced color.

If you like the color, go buy it, you will not be disappointed with the color. It is beautiful in person. I flew out to the last two I bought. Drove the first one home 1,976 miles, the other 996 miles. Both great drives.

JUST DO IT.

My thoughts exactly, first mod would be paint calipers venom red or black depending on the stripes and wheels on the car:drive:

72K is way out of my price range. I'm hoping to find one in low 60's or high 50's or if I get lucky find a bargain. But just out of curiosity is it a vert or a coupe?

To each his own :) beauty is in the eye of the beholder and for me following your categorization above I think this color is classy all day, racey in the sun, mean at sunset, meaner at night and classic 20 years from now :)

They're out there - I picked mine up with ~9,500 miles on it in the upper 50s. It had an in service date of June 2009, so it still has 6 months of the factory warranty left too!

Edit - here's the only pic I have uploaded to Photobucket at the moment:
