i thought the mirrors were off the Prowler, the mounting holes dont line up with the stock GTS so some filling to be done

Short answer is YES......right down to the BBS wheels. The flared rear quarters would be the challenge..all the rest is orderable in similar or exact appearance.

I have been thinking about how to replicate the front of the GTSR for a while now ;)

The problem with the GTSR is the body is wider than a normal GTS.
Also the inner lights would take up the space of the inner front bumper, so that would also have to be removed!

I had thought about buying a Gen 2 front nose from a salvage yard and then cutting it about a bit, problem is I have been informed that because of the type of flexible plastic its made from, that normal resins and filler will not adheer to it! and it would crack in no time at all :(

The Autoform Lookalike nose is OK but I really wanted the Plexiglas covers for the true Le mans look.

I also fancied the engine cross brace, but the fitting of this part would involve some serious engineering :(
Problem is you would have to lower the engine in the frame and modify the frame for fixing points, so that's that option out :( Oh and add a dry sump system because of the lowered block!

Nadine and myself (VOI T shirt) discussing how to replicate the look ;) Nadine even bought along an original GTSR inner spot lamp
(in the black box at my feet) so I could see the real size of them.... Their BIG!

The real Deal :headbang:

Here you can see how the brake ducting is incorporated in the front splitter. I know that's a comp coupe but the GTSR front mounts up the same way ;)

Looked into the mirror option and yes they are of a prowler and need modding to fit also they do not knock back...

That wing looks huge - even for the racing models.

I'm gonna have to agree - mimic; yes, recreate, no, not cheaply or easily.

Something to consider - doing these things will make the car a rough
vehicle to live with outside of a track. The wing prevents the hatch from
being opened, the mirrors look like they would **** in trafffic, and since
the side windows are sealed that side exhaust will echo up through the
cab. You may even save some money and time buying one of the old
SCCA cars.

I had to go back and watch the vid again Jon. Did not notice that. Once I find the car I want, I'll definitely be calling you for some parts and advice:)

Super vid....yes, caught those great shifts! I think the car looks great but agree with many above, probably would cost close to actually going and buying the real thing. But, that said, depends on what it is you want to replicate....just the look or the internals - e.g., engine, suspension and so on. If its to totally replicate, again, would just go buy one of the real ones that are floating around for sale.

And, yes, if you have money, you can do anything!

I do have a question, while on the subject:

What is the approximate cost to add the adjustable front splitter? Is that aluminum or carbon fiber?
