went out to start car up and turned over REAL slow. finally started up and had rough idle almost as if going to stall. I let it run a while and turned it off. went back out two hours later and wouldnt even turn over, so i jumped it and strted it up. let it run for about ten minutes, turned it off and attempted to start it up again. this time it turned over well but would not stay running, just stalled out and now it wont start at all, it just turns over. ANY IDEAS AS TO WHAT THE **** PROBLEM IS? Oh, and it gets better, warranty up yesterday!

probably the battery if you haven't been driving it much. happened to mine on a car 2 years old with ~4500 miles on it.
new battery (replaced under warranty) did wonders.

jason

p.s.

hit the unlock button. when the battery dies or is close to dead weird things happen with the security system, e.g. car won't start with out unlock.

Once the car starts, it should have run, even without a good battery. Unless the battery has some bad cells/shorted cells bringing down the voltage and causing firing problems.

How old is the gas?

When was the last time the car started normally?

You can still get an extended warranty for this car. It just cost you a lot more by waiting the 24hours. It's easier to get the extended warranty while still under standard warranty.

Betcha' it's the battery. Simple fix. The symptoms, including not idling or running properly are definitely right on for the Viper. pete the ex glass guy

Although the original issue is a mystery, if the battery was dead after that scene, the reason why the car isn't idling is because the computer now has to relearn. Start it up and drive it for about 10 minutes. After that, it should idle fine (unless the battery is truly a gonner).

Mine did the same thing until I charged the battery overnight.

The only thing I did to run the battery down was to leave the
lights on for about 15 minutes while wiping water off of it after
a wash.

Just had to give the ole battery a fresh " Full " charge...

But just in case, if I were you I'd charge the battery overnight
and as a good measure carry some jumper cables for a few days
to make sure all is well.

Time for a new battery. It also wouldn't run cuz it totally died. Car has to "relearn" and has to have good voltage to even idle. If not, you'll die at stop lights, etc.

My 98 GTS did the same thing, but a new battery didn't do it for me. after hours of trying to figure it out, I noticed that I didn't here the fuel pump when the key was turned. So I took the ECU out of my 2001 ACR and put it in the 98 and she fired right up.
