I'm with you, the ACR beat all of them. I read the article and the way Car and Driver came out with their placings was due to a weighted scale that was quite complicated and meaningless. If you want to be fast on the track buy an ACR, end of story.

My favorite test of the Car and Driver article was the 30-50 mph passing in top gear....I nearly stall trying to go 30 mph in 6th.....what a stupid test! I'll write them a proper editorial comment that is very insulting.

The worst part of this comparison is that they call it the ultimate track test then cars lose points for no back seat or not enough electronic creature comforts. Is this a track car test or a test to see which one I want to buy groceries in?

That will be a large part of the jist of my editorial comment....they have tested way too many minivans and have no clue what a good track car is......I might ask them to mail in their "man card" because they've obviously been castrated by someone.

Aaron

This has got to be the most unintelligent thing I have ever watched. Last in everything but wins... hahhaha

Wow, that test was madly biased!

No doubt the new GTR is amazing bang-for-buck (gimmicks, gadgets, horsepower and handling) and truly quick on other circuit tests.. but that was a hilariously biased review. It was so obviously out of its league.

As an owner of two GTRs (previous models), I can honestly say that they are good cars. Very well engineered, and amazing in their potential to be modified... However, out of the box, they are definitely not Vipers :)

The Viper is a ********, raw power beast, barely contained in a civilized shell... The GTR is a technology marvel. Very efficient, smooth and Japanese.. Completely different cars!

Before I bought a Viper, I used to think they were good performing, beautiful looking cars but terribly flawed and built like crap. I came to this impression from reading these moronic magazines. Having corvettes, I was going to buy a new 2006 Z06, since, for the first time, it was competitive with the Viper. When the dealer told me, "15k over msrp", I walked out. On the same week, I saw a B/W SRT Coupe coming down the turnpike. My eyes popped out of my head and I said to myself, "I'm going to check out a Viper". I went to a dealer who had one and compared it to the Z06. The quality of the Viper seemed to be a whole lot better from the paint job, to the interior (especially seats and ergonomics). A few months after buying the SRT Coupe, I was at a Chevy dealer again. This time, they offered me my pick of a Z06 (black or atomic orange). I decided I wanted to add another car to the fleet but was put off by the feeling I got inside the Z06 (drove one about 5 miles) as well as the horrendous paint jobs. The car did not feel special to me. I walked away from the dealer without buying the Z. About 2 weeks later I bought the GTS with 12k miles on it and was happier to have that rather than a brand new Z06.

The mags are written by dorks and ****** who just understand that the Viper's appeal is rooted from how focused and pure it is. It is built with very high quality and has a presence about it that surpasses any other car, in my opinion. There are other exotic cars, more exotic than the Viper (i.e. Saleen S7) but there is something far more masculine and intimidating about the Viper that even they lack. No other car has this kind of character and Dodge should be commended for creating the ACR. As a pure sports car, it is obvious that it has raised the bar enough to frighten the establishment into writing bogus reviews like this one.

Since when is the ugliest, heaviest and slowest car the winner in a sports car shootout? Are they drunk? Are we drunk? Surely, somebody needs rehab.

Not sure how the GTR won. After reading the article they should have just said the ACR is "Pure Badass" and left it at that. Its fastest 0-60, Fastest through the lane change pulls 1.08G and "Destroys" everything on a road course. It also brakes the best. I look forward to a track comparo with the ACR,ZR1 and the F430 Scuderia, maybe one of these can give the ACR a run for its money.

The ACR lost because they said its too loud, and it has no electronic aids. To me I think thats a good thing! Car and ****** has always been horrible with there ranking system. To them it all comes down to trunk space, cup holders and a nice the interior is.

I cant even believe they have the juevos to actually come up with those final results. Subjective my butt.

What is most impressive is that the ACR gave the GT2 a spanking. The ACR put up some incredible numbers.
