VCA members are more than welcome to attend the entire Mopar Week, but the main event is on Saturday so we will focus on getting a block of rooms for Friday-Sunday. Is this a trip you might think about going to? Getting a couple cars together for the ride down would be nice.

Reminder to renew TODAY to be eligible for the free year membership to VCA!

We will do the drawing at the Dyno Day in Raleigh. All active members will be entered, so you don't need to be present to win, but we would appreciate your attendance.

Sanford is no longer renting their facilities, so we are scrambling to find a new location for an autox at the end of March.

Great job with the schedule of events, I just moved to Charlotte and look forward to participating and meeting other members of the N&SC VCA. I can vouch for the Tail of the Dragon event scheduled for June, there were Vipers from 10 states in attendance. It was my first time and the entire Ala/Tenn VCA were fantastic, and set a great agenda for the 2 1/2 days, wrapping up Saturday evening with a police escorted parade through Gatlinburg. The Ala/Tenn club were excellent hosts making sure the first time attendees were included in everything. It was great to meet many of the enthusiasts attending from other states, my only regret was not being able to meet everyone. I have already planned on attending this year. I do have one tip for any newcomers, I learned that there are three groups of attendees, Group 1, they are the "tourists", enjoying the ride, the people and the cars, taking in as much as they can, then there is Group 2, the "fast" group, they like to drive fast but within reason, but also enjoy the camaraderie, then there is Group 3, they are the "Insane" , they lead the pack and leave the pack..... led by a local and hitting speeds that were purely insane, this group is small (Steve/Mike/Matt) but crazy in the best of ways. I got caught up in the lead pack on Friday afternoon and still smiling, though this year, I may need to move back a group or two to see what I missed. There are many videos out there, here are a couple for those that never attended.

I can't adequately express how much fun my son and I had for those 2 and 1/2 days, and it really makes you think that as great as the cars are and the fun we have in driving them, this event was a perfect example that owning a Viper is all of that but its much more about the people that you meet and the friendships you make.

From NCCAR's website: http://nccar.us/

Q: Can anyone use NCCAR?

A: That depends on your planned activities. All vehicle testing is subject to NCCAR safety rules and may be subject to insurance requirements. Please get in touch to discuss your plans.

Q: How much does it cost to use NCCAR?

A: That depends on what you want to use. The track is available for $125 per hour per vehicle during normal business hours. Weekend exclusive rates are $4,725 per day. Corner workers are additional cost.

Q: Is food available at NCCAR events?

A: Oh yes! We prepare some of the finest catering this side of Interstate I95 – Carolina BBQ; sirloin burgers, chili dogs, fruit etc.

Q: Do you require waivers to be signed for events?

A: Yes, we have a standard NCCAR waivers and a minors waiver. All participants and visitors for events must sign the waiver form and receive a wristband (to show the waiver form has been signed).

There is NCCAR near Roanoke Rapids NC. They have an area for autocross.

The only issue with NCCAR is its location. It is the greatest distance from the most members. The three main clusters are Raleigh, Charlotte, and Greenville/Columbia, SC

Thanks for posting and welcome to the NC VCA!!! We are all looking forward to the Tail of the Dragon this year as well. Thanks for posting those videos....very nice. This will be my first time going so I'm really looking forward to it. You are right about the people you meet and the friendships you make from being in the club. I am originally from PA and made a lot of friends in the club there...whom I do miss. However, I can tell you we have an outstanding group of members in our NC club....and my friendship base continues to grow. Looking forward to meeting you. Are there any other events you are considering?

Hi Brian, yes I believe so, I am thinking the Mopars at the Rock, the autocross depending on location, the Biltmore event, possibly one of the events at VIR. I may hook up with the Hot Rod Power Tour in one of the cities like Birmingham or Chattanooga and join them back to
Charlotte, where it concludes. And if anything else come up, especially over near Charlotte, I am all in. I look forward to meeting you, Chuck.

Hey everyone! I know we have been somewhat quiet recently, but it is not for lack of trying. The autocross is turning into a potential track rental for the end of March, so please stay tuned.

In the meantime, would anyone want to do a regular Saturday or Sunday lunch meetup each month? Brian & I can handle getting the Raleigh guys together, but we would like someone from the Charlotte and/or Columbia SC area step up and help pick a place each month for others in their general location to meet at...

If no one else steps up for the Charlotte area, I am willing to coordinate a monthly meet-up. Just let me know.
Also, I do plan to attend the Mopars at the Rock event the first Saturday in April, are there other members attending? I just made my reservations at the Greystone in Gatlinburg for the Tail of the Dragon weekend.

In a Tennessee hollow!
Just one note. We are starting the Vipers at Gatlinburg Gathering, Flailing of the Tail of the Dragon, Mountain Drive fest on FRIDAY MAY 31 and ending on SUNDAY JUNE 2. By all means come early and stay late but those are the official days we're planning for. We have members who will probably get there early. More info to follow. Everyone is welcome but we'd like some help with the idea of numbers of club members coming so we can plan for Saturday night. We may have a new venue for dinner and socializing so we need to plan accordingly. Thanks to all!

Also, we have not forgotten about the free membership drawing! Well... we did sort of forget to pick a name out of the hat at the Dyno Day... BUT we will do the drawing at the March event (to be announced)!
