Catch can set-up on a 2003?

Does anyone have any good pics and maybe a write-up of a catch can install on a 2003?
I have no idea why this one topic is so damn confusing to me, considering all the other work I do myself. Viper X tried to help me out and sent me pics of the install on his '04, but the '03's have a different set-up.
I understand running the two lines form the top, middle of each valve cover to the catch can. Where I get lost is the changes/plugs/etc done to the PVC and airbox area. Since the '03's have outlets on the back of each manifold cover and they run under the intake, I'm not sure what the heck to do there, and no idea about what is meant when people talk about plugging something from the airbox.
Is there only supposed to be the two main lines running to the catch can? Nothing going back to the car anywhere? I want to run the catch can with a breather on top, so maybe nothing is needed to go back anywhere in the car?
I'm getting more into track days, so I want to get this on the car, but being an '03 makes it different than everyone else's.

Any pics (and instruction) would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Scott

I'm curious, why do you feel you need this on your car? .....are you getting excessive oil in your intake hose?....smoke out the exhaust on deceleration?.......or what? ....and wow, how hard are you driving if you really need this?........if that's really necessary, my hat's off to ya!:omg:

No idea about smoke or not on decel, but I've got it tuned pretty well and really don't need any oil getting in the intake and lowering the octane.
An oz of prevention...

Yeah! I would much rather spend a couple hundred bucks on the catch can than buy a new engine! :)
I would love to get Dan's oil pan set-up, but I think I'm safe on that $2k until I move up to dedicated track tires. I hope so anyway.

There is a vacuum inlet on the bottom of the manifold just behind the throttle body that is attached to the line going from the driver side valve cover, you need to plug that

I'm interested to see some setups as well. I did a full Gen 3 intake and valve cover swap on my Gen 2 and need to figure out a setup.

Thanks for the link. It's very informative on the overall process, but it looks to be on a 2004.5 or later. The set-up is different on the 2003's. It seems like all I can find are writ-ups and pics on the later Gen III's.

You ate wasting money putting stuff on your engine that you will never need. Why? Did someone tell you to? 0 purpose on a n/a car.

From what I've read, running the engine that hard for full track sessions (even NA), in addition to braking that hard, can still get oil vapors sucked back into the intake and lower octane ratings.

If the baffles are in place I dont see how but I'm installing mine if you need guidance. Tap the top center of both covers #8 minimum, separate lines to can, can in front of crossbar, 1 straight and 1 90 depending on which can. Drill, tap and plug existing holes, remove pcv and cap line. Remove intake and tap and plug hole if you want to do it correctly but not necessary. plug hole in air cleaner.

Ill send you my Roe oil/air seperator if you want a cheap alternative. It screws into the oil fill hole. Works great.
