Like most of you. I am thirsty for some nice carbon fiber goodies for my Gen V.
I was pleasently surprised by my friend Wayne ( Jetstar ) who , when I arrived in Sebring this past weekend for the NARRA Racing series , handed me this beutiful Carbon Fiber rear Spolier for my Gen V Launch Edition. I put it in place for the photos and will install it this week. Wayne is trying to ramp up production for the spoiler and front splitters along with hopefully soon a rear diffuser in Carbon..

That looks great, do you have a close up shot of the weave? I imagine he'll get a lot of interest in it!

I'm interested. I was hoping to get OEM parts but with Mopar's pricing I'm open to other solutions. Are the pieces the exact same shape as OEM? The OEM pieces mount with urethane adhesive, how do these mount?

As I track, I just need to understand if the parts will produce the same downforce and if they can handle the stresses at over 150 mph without damage or coming loose.

Thanks, Jetstar sounds like a good guy to be friends with.

Currently dont have a close-up of the weave... There was so much going on Im surprised i took the time to take pictures of it then..
The weave looks very good...I am not an expert on CF, but I am very particular on what I will or wont put on my car..and this one is Nice!

They can also be painted to match your car...Which I might do after a while... But I like the Black CF look ..gives it a liitle more edgy look.

I wish I could edit the Title to this thread to " Spoiler Altert !!!" :lmao:

The prices will be much less than OEM.
Yes, it installs with 3M tape ..and it wont come off at 150..I dont think it would come off at 300.. The spoiler is so very light and that tape is so strong its not going to go anywhere.

That looks great, looking forward to more info and pricing.

Had a thought about painting it, how would it look if you just ran the white stripes over it and left the rest CF?

I might look at it painted to match my car, yellow with black stripes and no CF.

Yes I agree. However, you cant even buy one from Mopar even now ...... even if you wanted to pay 5 grand....

Actually Mopar has them in stock. List price is, ready for this?.......

$12,090. One company's greed and incompetence (Mopar!!!) creates an opportunity for others to profit. I refuse to pay that on principle.

Reminds me of this...
There are two dealerships local to me. One offered his Vipers for a $50k over MSRP. I quietly walked out of this greedy dealer and drove down the street to the other dealer. I didn't say anything to anyone, they just lost their business and credibility and I won't buy from them in the future.

The other offered his at MSRP. I bought from them, Normadin in San Jose. Normandin sold out all of his before they arrived, the greedy dealer still has his original two Vipers. Marked down but no takers. Meanwhile, Normandin has 5 2014s coming in- including a Crusher Orange TA, a silver with carbon aero and matte black Sidewinders, and an Anodized Carbon Edition. Because Normandin does business right, they got nearly all of the business in the area. At a profit. The other dealer, however, has stale merchandise that he may sell at a loss.

Viper owners are not stupid. Mopar hasn't figured this out.

That looks epic painted. I use to to think carbon fiber weave was so cool....If this becomes available for the Gen 4 first thing I'm doing is painting it to match. Carbon fiber add-on's left unpainted are looking too ricer to me.
When a vehicle has lines and curves like the Viper, anything that is not painted starts to detract from the beauty IMO.

Cheers,
George

Looks so much better painted on a striped car as it allows the stripes to carry through. thanks for sharing that pic, first I had seen of one painted.

Thanks for the insult George

Most if not all of CF upgrades ordered and shipped on New Vipers are Carbon only showing..so that's one of many reasons why its appropriate for the Viper..and most love it that way

Im not going to let " The Ricer" community take over and you belittle Carbon Fiber as " ricer"..and prevent me from considering it...which is a nice touch on some of the most prestigious and expensive exotics ever made...and if it wasn't for these exotics , F-1 cars and Indy cars it wouldn't have become available as it has..

Too bad for you that your perceived lesser value cars that have over done bad carbon some how prevent your use of quality CF..
I guess its a California thing....

Carbon Fiber done right is extremely difficult to pull of correctly especially on multi contour and angle pieces like a spoiler. Its truly a work of art with allot of hand made and hand finished hours involved with making a quality show piece and should be shown, never belittled .

I was going to paint it..but it looks so good in glossy carbon...I may never paint it..

The darker one has a smoked finish on it. Looks more like Black Snake skin :)

Those look beautiful....I'm a fan of unpainted CF. Not so sure I would trust 3M tape at 193 mph though. I have personally witnessed rear spoilers come off cars at triple digits and send then into the weeds (tire wall at VIR actually)..yikes. Is that how the Mopar spoiler is installed? jc

Umm, not to change the subject (ok, ok, guilty), but did anyone do any hot laps in G5 at Sebring? Care to share any lap times? :headbang:

No hot laps but some pretty aggressive parade laps :). Maybe next year or event and I have taken it to 185 with the spoiler and splitters
Thanks

Looks fantastic, Jetstar. That Prius is worried it's about to become your snake's lunch!

That's what Snakes do. The pictures were taken at Ivan **'s restaurant in Miami and we were there for dinner :)

Please know that I was in no way insulting you or your product and if it came off that way I apologize. I am actually very excited with what you have done. I do understand the workmanship and effort it takes to make the weave, texture, gloss and fitment perfect. You obviously have accomplished this. Vehicle color choice and add on's is a personal preference. Since I have an all red coupe I would like to continue the theme. As I said in my first post, I hope you build a kit for the Gen 3/4 as I will be a buyer.

Cheers,
George

Jet, your 'stuff' looks really cool indeed, and you put it together so quickly. What is the ground clearance on the front splitters...I already brush speed bumps up here, unless I take them diagonally.

I'm interested in the pricing, but not for financial/purchase sake. My interest is in your entrepreneurial spirit and marketing. What with Mopar at $12k for the same CF(?)...and Brembo at $31 for Viper carbon fibre brakes, seems we are being taken advantage of?

Also, did you come up with CF for the ducts behind the door windows? Lastly, where in Florida are you...I'm in Palm Beach Gardens after the holidays, and bringing my Viper down.
