Are you coming to the V-10 Nats?

There is a guy in Louisville with a "street" car that wants to street race for some serious money. He says he has an all street motor car that he will race for some $$. Not sure if you are up for it or not, but I said I would relay the message. He's a pretty serious street racer...and I know he does have a fast car that will pick up the front end of his car up. I think he has an 89 camaro and a regal...he talks big but won't go from a roll...he wants to do a dig only. I won't race him for the money cause I rather spend it on tools and other things..he's talking like $5000.00 PM me if you're interested.

Everyone has a different opinion of a "Street Car". Mine is;
A/C,Power steering and brakes,a radio, full interior and weight.
If the guy has all this, he doesn't stand a chance. Chad will destroy the competition at the pump gas nationals this year(and half of those cars are not "REAL" street cars).

What does this guy have exactly ?

Damn, what octane fuel you running Chad? I know you fit the "full interior" portion of a "street car", but I thought for sure your wouldn't be able to fill up at the local shell w/ 93?

Twin, I am with you one what a "Street Car" is, heck I will even stretch out and 100+ octane fit in the catagory, as it can be had at many gas stations around.

Chad's car is capable of running on 93, but not at 17000rwhp, more like a WEAK 1200+/- rwhp. :p

Chad would waste that dude. But somehow I don't think $5k means the same to Chad as the other guy.

LOL, busted.

However, Chad has stated what the car "has" put down. However, he hasn't openly stated what it is capable of putting down.

Is there going to be a V10 nats ????

Anyway, Which car....the Camaro or the Regal ? Do you have anymore info .... your not giving much to go on and asking somebody to race for a lot of money. Does he only street race or will he do it at the track ? Picking up the front tires means squat. I'm guessing it is stripped/light weight with tubs and huge rear slicks ...... to be all motor and outrun Chad it will have to be a very healthy engine and a very well set up car. If he wants to run a street legal car at the dragstrip for 5K we can set that up with several cars down my way.

OH, Sh*t! I just got back from Church! Oopps!

Haha, OK, I really meant 17001rwhp! :p

Ok 1700+ rwhp! And that's from a Post from Chad, so it is NO-Where near what I will put down!

Although, if Heffner ever decides to go Water/****, NOS, and other goodies he may actually hit 17000! :p

Well, if there is going to be one..this guy "happy" is his name wants to race. He street races from a dig and he won't do track...don't ask me why. I don't know what the difference is if you are going to do it from a dig...but he insist street only.

I really don't know what he has...he doesn't really say. He's been nagging me to race him, but I don't have that kind of cash to play with. I think he is running s serious shot of N20 or something...the car is not a looker or anything fancy...I think he has street tubbed tires whatever that means..but he goes to chicago to down deep in the south to do these kind of street races. I don't think he has been beat yet.

When you said "He says he has an all street motor car " I thought you meant an "all motor" car, which means motor only....no power adders.
There is a difference on the street.....many cars that hook real well at the track will not hook at all on the street. Not that they couldn't be made to hook on the street, but there is no desire to do so. Also, how the horsepower is applied makes a big difference. Some folks build cars specifically for dead stop street racing.....it's not unheard of for a car that is a a lot slower at the drag strip to win on the street.
It would be nice to see some pics of this car.

He's probably got a nice set of Slicks on, that he runs on the street, against guys with Street Tires on. That would be why he wants to race from a Dig.
What kind of a Race does he want, a mile, 1/4, 1/2 ?
What ever the distance, I am sure it's what his car does best. I don't think he would have a Chance in Hell to beat Chad in a Standing mile, even if Chad ran Pilot Sport, he would go flying by him at the 1/2 mile and Hit the Parachute, to blind him! :2tu:

Tell the guy to race you for fun. Make another bet, dinner, Tricyle around Cones, etc! :p

Anyone of you seen the movie Iron Eagle 3 with Louis Gossett Jr. (sp?)? Chad should build in the same feature the Spitfire has: after pulling the commercial banner the guy pulls a switch to release it, making it fly right into the intake of the enemy's jet :D !

I should appologize for my last post!

Even if that OTHER car hooks well on the street, he would NEVER see the front of Chad's Monster!! :headbang:

Sorry about that, my attempt at humor lead me to ignore reality for a second! :p

ahmmmmm, I wouldn't be so sure. Are you willing to put $5000 on it ?

Why, do you want to bet on Chad's car losing a street race?
You might offer him a couple grand to lose, so you could get paid! :D

I think if money is involved it should be at a TRACK, if not, then I prefer Run-for-fun.

I don't have to put any money up, Abs guy is offering that.
If you go back and read my first post, that is not what I am saying. I was trying to gain an advantage for Chad or anybody else that doesn't have a car set up for dead stop street racing. You say that "he would NEVER see the front of Chad's Monster" .... do you know how much money you could lose trying backing that up to certain cars across the country ?? So far, we have no Idea of what this car is...it could very well be a mid or low eight second car that would rip the ass out of a high seven second car that is not set up to hook on the street. Have you ever seen videos of cars doing "real" street racing. Believe me, that are not fkg around. Never say never is all I was pointing out. Jason must have let you get into the Koolaid :D He really needs to lock that chit up

without a doubt some guys don't play when it comes to hooking it up on the street. especially those who have been street racing for a while. it ain't nothing to see 8 and 9 second cars racing on the street and they wanna get you to believe they are "street" cars because you see them racing on the street when in reality the trailer they just took them off of is behind the Exxon up the road.

been there and done that and they will take your franklins real quick. This is just a general post and not related to the present topic. These guys live for fridays and saturday night racing and unfortunately the money usually turns these guys into pretty big azzes.

would be a blast to see, but IMO wouldn't be worth the risk on the street with these 2 beasts.

I was just messing around with Bettng Against Chad's car. I know you are a friend to Chad and Viper Drag Racing in general.
And I wasn't being very serious about seeing the front of Chad's car either. I am sure there are some out there that can hook well on the street. But I haven't ever seen a STREET car, that can run 8s and run on the street often. And I haven't seen any real street racing video's either, just what is posted here and other sites.
You are correct, Never Say Never. There is always someone out there that can outrun you. But that percentage has really gone down against the Viper, with all the Vipers runing 9s now, and Chad in the 8s.
You are correct again in that...
Jason, has given me more than 1 serving of his Koolaid! :p Yum, yum! :p
My car won't be in the same league as Chad's. But I don't think many are. Not true streetable cars at least.

Casey,

When is that bad boy coming home?

Ron
Should be within the next few weeks. I won't be in my new home for another 2 weeks, so hopefully shortly after that!

We'll have to finally meet up, so I can check out your Viper(GaryA told me your Paint is just perfect!), and we can tear up the streets of Indiana a bit! :2tu:

Ron were you and your Viper at the Indiana/Kentucky dyno day last year just north of Indianapolis?
If so you have a great looking car!

Casey, make sure you call me when Gary A. is about an hour away from delivering your car, I will be there. :D

Wow, missed this one. Not sure I'd want to show up in the middle of nowhere to race "Happy" for "big money." That sounds like a situation that could go south real quick.

And Tony is right, street racers have their cars setup to run ******* the street. Usually a very different setup and they run on a patch of road they know, have their guy start the race (with his foot), have their guy hold the money, etc.

It is a different type of racing alltogether. I used to beat cars a second faster than me every weekend. You have to be well versed in playing the game to do well. Not my scene anymore for lots of reasons, number one being safety.

I can't wait to see everyone at the next race, on the track!

Exactly....on the other hand, Chads car is "just" a heavy ol' Viper with little tires. Maybe "happy" would make an exception and run at the strip with no et's showing up on the board.
