I found out how much I dont know how to drive the Viper this weekend. I flat-spotted the heck out of the fronts. I suppose the stop-tech front setup probably doesnt help, and most likely hurts an inexperienced Viper driver. Been driving ABS cars too long (vette).

Anywho, I searched BBS topics and see shaving is a possibility. With mine, I doubt it, but its worth a shot.

1. Anyone know of a shop in the Raleigh area that can do this?

2. Anyone wanna sell me a set of used stock fronts?

Man Im an idiot.

Bless you my son. You are not an idiot - simply inexperienced.

Shaving the tires doesn't "true" them. The blade follows the contour of the tire. At least, that's what I've heard. Might be better to swap them to the back, put about 21psi in them and do a couple burnouts.

Chuck, you are misinformed.

The blade stays a consistent distance from the axle CL and slowly moves inward. Black rubber noodles come peeling off until the rest of the tire is even with the flat spot. A good shop can spin-balance the tire right there on the car. You will not get a better ride than with this method.

Yep, well that's what I get for listening to a tech expert for one of Viper Days Sponsors.

Think I might try the burn-out technique if all else fails.

At least I can take out some aggression on the wobblies!
