Thanks for this post. I changed my power steering and clutch master today. I was shocked when I got the first batch of p.s. out , It was black as coffee it took six flushes to get it looking good. 
As for the clutch master i did the procedure describe above. But after the first flush i saw a black stream of muck coming out of the master. So i ended up poping the bleeder, Three complete flushes later it was good.
IMHO, If you haven't done this do it because you never know what the oil looks like.
