Could these people at Dodge be any more schistey? I'm over here replacing the stock air filters(Oh my God are they THICK) and one of the airbox clips just falls off. No biggie, right...not quite. I put it back on and as I'm trying to close up the box, the clip keeps coming off. All the others secure just fine. I think the cheap plastic the airbox clip is molded to has become loose. I've read the airbox modification on this forum, but I don't think that is going to help my problem. What are my options here, spending another 1K on an airbox? Leaving the one clip off and risking getting crap sucked into my engine? Duct tape and chicken wire...?

Hey Leaf001,
There was a discussion on those clips not too long ago. I think they are the same as a 95 chevy Tahoe/truck, but do a search to be sure. Or call Chuck Tator, he'll know for sure. Also you had sent me a PM about my windows(they are stock), but when I tried to respond, the message would not go through.

IF you are putting K&Ns in there per your sig, that is the problem...My stock air filters fit FINE...the seal around them is pretty plyable...the air box clips work well..

I put in the K&Ns and CLICK, CLICK CLICK...Like a delayed reaction, about 3-4 seconds after I snapped the clip closed and started thinking I was done (mentally I was driving again even though I still had to install the air box) CLICK, SNAP..

The **** things were like gr****oppers, they would fly 4-5 feet, no lie...ITs frustrating...

I guess the safest thing to do is the air box mod. I trimed some rubber off of the K&N filters (what a PITA). I also put a BIG gash in my thumb doing it...dohhhhhhh...

If I had to do it again, I would by the S&B filters and try them from roeracing...

And, if you need more clips, you can go to your local chevy dealer and get em...Part # is 25043286. If you go this route, but sure to tell em what I told em...I hope this CHEVY part does not slow me down!!!
