High mileage. On the face of it, looks good, but make sure to get a Carfax, a Tatorfax and your own eyeballs on it to be sure it is "good to go!" :2tu: 2000 Grey RT/10

Wow. That would be a perfect car to TT. Pull the heads, replace the pistons (b/c you'd want a ring job anyway) and BAM - 900-1000rwhp.

nice!

that must be the RT/10 "4-wheel-drive" version. the tire / fender gaps look HUGE on that car!

So critical...

I'm surprised you didn't knock the 'chrome wheels' comment as well... even though those are SRT wheels on the car.

gheesh...

I really like those wheels on the RT/10, and the miles don't bother me. Vipers weren't made to spend their life in a climate controlled garage...they were made to be driven!

What a shame that 'the market' has declared that a race designed engine can't have more than 3000 miles or so a year put on it without it being considered a high miler. I guess the joke's on the seller. I see no reason a properly maintained Viper engine can't do a little racin' and easily get a couple hundred thousand miles. I may be testing that theory out. 64,000 fun filled miles to date. Zero engine trouble.....and that's with some racin' and lots of bolt on mods, including a blower.

Re: Cheap RT/10 for someone who doesn\'t mind...............

I agree that the Viper engine should be good for six-digit mileage...easily.. However... any vehicle's resale value drops considerably at the 100K mark....... and the closer to that mark.....

In the case of a Viper... the folks buying them want low miles.... so anyone buying this one has to consider their potential resale value as well.

By the way, it's missing the front fascia badge... so the fascia has been repainted..... probably from underside scratches, but who knows?

The car has a clean carfax record. I agree on mileage. This looks like a good buy.

Or the emblem fell off or was stolen...

These guys often sell high mileage cars. Saw a Jag XKR for sale last month for about 12k. Their cars sit around and do not sell out, for what it is worth.

You know the wheel well gaps do look aweful large for
some reason.

I have no issues whatsoever with high mile vehicles. I'd
10x rather have a vehicle that was drivern regularly than a
garage queens whose issues haven't surfaced yet. As with the
GTSR thread - if I were in the market, at that price I would
be stopping in to check it out if nothing else.

Re: Cheap RT/10 for someone who doesn\'t mind...............

i found this pic in the registry. this looks more "normal" to me. is it maybe the gen III rims and tires that make the gap look large, or does the high mileage affect the suspension somehow?

The high mileage car has slotted rotors. track mod or poser mod? could go either way...

I tend to think the Gen III wheels may cause the wheel gap as well.

that looks like wheel gap to me

it's gotta be something with the susp, or maybe the size of the tires...?
