Did your original washer break? Why replace it?
I had the oil changed at a place close to me that only changes oil and this was the only place that would let me drive the car into there shop. The first two oil changes I had at this shop went fine. I brought my own oil and filter and the owner of the
shop did the work. This last time he had one of his guys do the oil change. The next day I have a puddle of oil in my garage. So I call the guy and he tells me to go down to the dealership and pickup a new sealing washer. I do and take the car over to
the shop and the owners not there so a couple of the guys install the new washer. After I start the car and they check for leaks they tell me the oil pan is cracked at the drain hole. They phone the owner and I wait for him to get there. He shows up
and tells me he will do the labor but I need to help him out with the parts. Due to wear and tare and I mite of hit something. I tell him I'm a machinist and I know a little about threaded fasteners and he is full of s*#* I also tell him that this car has
never leaked a drop of anything and this started after this last oil change. I then tell him we can do this one of two ways. I can take the car straight to the dealership and I will call my attorney just as soon as I pick up the rental car I will be driving for
how ever many weeks until the dealership gets parts and completes the work. I mention after paying all my legal fees and for the work done to fix the car it shouldn't be more than 3 or 4 grand. Or He can get me a new pan and gasket that I will install and he will never see me again. He chose the second option and I am a waiting for the parts.
