My car has a reoccurring problem with the Idle. Its a 97 GTS with 31K, every 6 mos or so this happens & it happened last night.

Problem, Idle goes to 0 on tach , then bounces back to 450 rpm or so (indicated), then run fine.

After a few days of this , last night after work, after a 60 degree day , the temp was around 39+- , the car started ok , but the idle thing happened again, & this time it stalled 5 or 6 times, on the short ride home the check engine light came on .I think its showing a code 12 & 14.
The dealer has replaced many parts & the car runs fine 99.9% of the time. Any advice?

Try a new battery. Every 6 mos the weather gets cooler. Every 6 mos you have this problem. Honestly, try a new Die Hard

I just went thru the same thing... twice.... symptons were exactly what you stated.... Problem with mine was for some reason a spark plug boot came loose... Pushed it back down and car had to relearn to idle for a couple hours and now runs great.. Couldn't hurt trying.

keep us posted..

Pete- I've installed an interstate MT-78. Works and fits fine. My car sits for extended periods and has never discharged. Contact me- I sell them at my shop-- give ya a great price- my cost! BTW did you do me the favor at Petit LeMans with the Viper Club parking pass? Someone left it on my dash. If not, thanks to whomever.

Put new battery in & so far so good!. The old batterey was the original 97 & had never failed. The case looked alittle bowed but the green light was still lit. The voltage gauage is reeding higer with the new battery.

Thanks for the tips
