I have experience with both processes and with both companies. I had my 2006 Viper 5-spoke wheels chromed (traditional process) in 2011 by California. I shipped from the East Coast to the West Coast because of their reputation. After 4 years, all 4 wheels are perfect, PERFECT. No problems, no delamination, no issues at all. Even the red powder coat "SRT" is still perfect on each wheel. A few months ago I had the 22" wheels chromed by Detroit Wheel and tire on my new Expedition Platinum. Shockingly, even through that style of wheel was virtually brand new, they had 4 in stock for an exchange and I received he wheels 3 days after ordering. They use the PVD process and offer a 5 year unconditional warranty. Remember that if anything had gone wrong with my original wheels, they would have only been covered by he standard 3-yr warranty. IMHO, PVD is the way to go on a daily driver. They look great an are maintenance free. A plug for DW&T, I discovered that one of the wheels had incurred some slight shipping damage only after they had been installed, ZERO questions asked, DW&T sent me a replacement at no cost. You sure don't see that everyday. Pictures don't do the California Chrome wheels justice, it's very difficult to capture how nice they really are in pictures. I detail them with Windex and a clean cloth and they are still perfect and extremely easy to maintain. I know a number of people that used California Chrome, and am not aware of a single issue. Good luck.
