What is everyone's overall opinion on side louvers? I have never seen them on a Viper, and I am up in the air on them. I was thinking that chromed out ones might look intense, anyone ever thought or this or done it?

After you've been here a while you'll preface questions like this one to exclude me.

But since you asked, if it don't make it go fast then it's worth reconsidering whether it's worth the money/time.

I am not a fan of them. I don't like the way they look. They are not functional. They add extra weight. Chroming them would even make them more heavy!...though, with the slickness of chrome, there would be less resistance for the wind that does NOT flow across them. Heh-heh.

It's a good idea, I heard they help theft deterent. Being the would be thief wouldn't be able to disconnect wires and such. I think they do add a finishing touch to that area. Apex Lethal Vipers had silver painted louvres on their yellow GTS. You may be able to find pics on the board, or their website. I know they have an advertisement that has a small pic of the car.

No way! Really? Deters theft? Okay, I have to hear more on this. Who knows if this is true or not? If it IS true, what exactly are the louvers preventing the thief from doing? What wires are being messed with? What is the result of the wires being messed with?

Who would steal a Viper that had those ugly chrome side louvers?
There's your theft deterrent.

Hah-hah. That IS a good one! *grin*

Of course, if I had a Viper with chrome side louvers, it might as well be stolen...'cause I wouldn't drive it! *chuckle*

Not to flame on Shadow, but I'm not real big into chrome. I like color better, if I wanted reflections, I can just take a mirror outside. Or look into the paint of a Zaino'd black Viper. :D I'm not too sure the chrome side louvres would work. I've seen color matched, and those add little more completion to the Viper's exterior. Kinda like the MGW license plate frames, or the ones that say Ferraris for lunch :D
