Some open questions:

Did the mods to the cooling flow in the block resolve the problems of uneven block cooling?

Is the foot well space for the driver's feet improved?

Has the heat flow into the cockpit moderated?

Is the cockpit noise level/frequency pleasurable?

Thanks

From what I understand...

1. Yes or at least it was improved

2. No...it's the same footwell as the GEN III/IV.

3. I believe srt did lots to improve cooling in the car.

4. If you buy a GTS.

yep,
and SRT hood has better cooling for the engine as well.

Thank you all.

When someone runs across the SRT guys, please ask how the mods to the cooling flow in the block to resolve the problems of uneven block cooling worked out during the development cycle.

Thanks again

I spoke with several SRT engineers at VOI on the two hoods. They all said there is no measurable difference between the two. They stated that the louvers closest to the windshield on the SRT hood do very little. Most of the work is done by the front most louvers on the SRT hood.

Some press coverage indicates that modifications were done to alleviate the large thermal gradient seen in earlier Gen Viper engines. There are a fair share of images of Gen V engine, but non show any "external" work cooling modifications (prevalent in some Japanese engines). Most of these claimed block cooling modifications must all have been done via the internal water passages. Some engine builders have adopted this block cooling issue by pulling coolant from the rear:

Yeah, even the GTS-R's hood is similar to the GTS hood.

Some of the earlier videos, especially the one dedicated to the engine state head coolant passage changes as well as block changes.
But what these are in detail who knows.
I might see if I can find a mopar dude at PRI this weekend while Im casing out the place.

There once was a session with the egineers in this forum, they said "the SRT hood has more cooling" It'll be measurable for some of the hot environments IMHO.

Maybe it is aerodynamically better, maybe the less HP engine doesn't require that much cooling, idk.

Totally WAG;

Both hoods are very close in "at speed" performance with the SRT hood just a tiny bit better. BUT at a standstill, trafic light, very slow traffic, parked, the SRT hood permits the release of more hot air from under the hood. :dunno:
