Clear bra ACR wing

Viper Nation,

Has anyone ran a strip of clear bra film across the front of the wing? Is this even a problem area with chipping and pitting.

Ask again in a week or so. I just did an ACR and we are going to attampt to cover the entire top of it and leasing edge. Didnt have the right tool to remove the end plates so had to wait.

Yes, several here in Houston have done it, but I did not on mine. My clear bra installer advised me to put a strip on the leading edge of the wing since others had experienced some chipping in the past.

I did on all the front-word sections of the wing. Mine runs under and over and is about 3" wide. If I had to do it over I would cover the whole top of the wing. I have a couple of rock chips above my strip.

Last night I had the Sills, mirrors and behind the rear tires done. Next week I am getting the front bumper, door handles, headlights and wing.

Bruce, I know Dan "ViperX" has done it, I'm going to get it done too. I've had a couple of chips on the back section of the wing in addition to the Gurney flap. You can tape the edge for the track which is fairly easy, but you'll get tire and rocks on the top section, so unless you want to tape the entire top side, use the clear bra.

In addition to the work you've done, I'd recommend doing the first 6-12" of the roof, and the sections behind the hood vents (in addition to the hood just past the scoop). I've also done the doors from the crease by the mirrors to the bottom. Mike

Bruce - I had the leading edge of my wing done. They hid the seam very well in the natural shadow of the lip.

Be careful removing the end plates, there are some very cheap jack nut type things in there that the hex fasteners are locktighted to, they strip right out when you think you are just loosening the fasteners. Try to do it without removing the end plates if you can.
