Clear Mylar on front of side sills??

Does anyone know the part number for the clear strip of Mylar that protects the front (near the front tire) of each side sill? Also, where might I find this? Thanks.....Kurt

If memory serves me, they are called "spats". I can look them up when I get home if you need a part number.

In an early parts book, it lists 3 different "applique, sill cover anti-chip" items. The front (I think this is the one we are thinking of for your application) is listed as 4708-428 & 4708-429. One more thing...you could buy 3M or another brand of the clear film and cut to shape.

For that much money, you could buy enough 3M or Clearbra (same stuff) to cover the whole side sill, or more. Ridiculous price.

Kurt, make your own from Helicopter or leading edge tape. I am getting ready to buy some tape for my side sills, because the factory price is something like $300 for the full set of appliques. Rip off of the highest order!
