Weather finally broke in Michigan yesterday. Took the RT out and visited my good friend at his Marathon service station yesterday in Walled Lake. Four of us guys standing around enjoying the weather shooting the $%*# when all of a sudden we hear a tire blow out and a Mercury Marquis comes heading towrds us and the RT out of control. Apparently, the ball joint on the driver side broke away blowing out the tire and brake line. He was out of control and could not stop the car. As we began to scramble, he finally stopped inches from us, the RT and the service station. It all happened so fast all we could do was watch and hope. TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT!!!!

RT/ED, by chance do you have a red/white and blue Viper? I passed one on Wixom Rd. yesterday, heading in the opposite direction.

Dang, I live just outside Walled Lake and was tooling around in my 96 blue/white GTS yesterday. The only other nice car I saw was a orange Lotus yesterday, no other Vipers. I can't remember exactly where the Marathon station is, what street corners is it near? Got the Viper a little dirty from all the melting snow washing across the roads, but oh well. I'll clean her up after I take it for another cruise today. Had my first experience on snow with the Viper after I pulled into the Orchard Lake boat launch parking lot to turn around and it had many patches of snow on it still, what fun trying to drive through that with some 500 odd horsepower. I'm glad you and the Viper escaped unscathed after your little adventure.

Yeh! trashed mine yesterday as well. It was warm, but hard to find any roads that were not good and wet. Came home and spent a couple hours cleaning and polishing....can't say I mind doing that though!

Marathon Station is on Pontic Trail and Commerce accross from the Chrysler Dealership. John owns the station, have know him since kindergarten. Good place to have your daily drivers serviced, fair prices for quality work! His hoists will get under Vipers if you want a quick oil change from someone that will take extra care of your baby while in service! :usa:
