clutch

I have about 2 k on my o6 srt and the clutch is starting to feel soggy. There is about 1-2 " of play in the pedal. is this normal or is there an adjustment.

Went to turning stone casino in Verona New York and never saw so many people take pictures of my car with their cell phones. WOW

Get used to the cell phone cams - Sometimes its like having paparazzi around though. I'm interested to see how others respond to the actual question. Sometimes mine feels the same way after driving for a few hours or after long stents in traffic.

For what it’s worth, I had less than 200 miles on my new Vert and when hot lost the clutch completely. No feel to the clutch and it wouldn't go into gear. After I sat for a short period and it cooled off, it came back to life.

Being within driving distance, I contacted Chuck Tator, described my situation and he diagnosed it accurately over the phone. Made a service appointment and now good as new!

What was it you ask, being hand made, the hydraulic clutch fluid line was way too close to the high temperatures generated by the engine components. He tied the line back with stainless steel ties and wrapped it with extra insulation and whalla! I have not experienced the same problem since.

Yes, you can boil the OE fluid. I think I boiled mine too when my car was new. Check your clutch fluid line as Hissnake states above. If it's properly routed and insulated, you really shouldn't have this problem.

I also run Motul RBF 600 synthetic fluid for clutch fluid.

Headers can also be an issue with this line if they are too close to it.
