Communication Devices for Helmets Question:

Has anyone used any type of in helmet communication device on the track? I have some hearing loss and would love to be able to hear the instructor more clearly in my car while getting instruction on the tract. If so, What type and who would install the system.

I have had two Nady systems and both had the same problem with the headsets not working after some time. Does anyone know another brand?

NADY PMC-2 for our club.

I used to use an open face helmet when teaching Novices, so they could hear me, un-muffled.

Safety First, so now I (usually) use full-face helmet and the wired communicators. Be sure to have the novice set their volume high enuf BEFORE entering the track, so they are not adjusting themselves off the track.

Hello,

I used the chatterbox, also commonly used for motorcycles. It works just great, but it is wired. I just shoved the junction box into the glove box, could also have attached it to myself. Installation in the helmet took about 2 minutes with velcro and stickies. I used them so for Driver-->navigator communication during the silver state classic.. If I had only used that in the first race, when the roof was not on... Talk about noisy....

just search for chatterbox intercom, don't forget to get the headsets and an extention cord. I think the entire system was about $80.00.

(I think this is where I got it...) http://www.accessoryinternational.com/chatterbox.html

Obviously not to useful for talk to somebody not in the car.
