I am considering installing air bleeders in my 96 RT. Any pros, cons, tips ,who's product to use would be appreciated.

I'm sure they work, but cutting into your hoses creates additional leak paths. Not something I'd do to my car. To bleed, grab a friend and both of you squeeze the heck out of the upper radiator hose. Flatten as much of it as you can. Do it several times with the degas (coolant) bottle cap off, and A/C/heater temp switch to full hot (but car off, of course). You'll hear the air bubbling in the degas bottle. When no more air bubbles escape from squeezing the hose, you are done.

The degas system, by design, will force small amounts of air out of the system through normal driving. Just be sure your overflow bottle in the front facia is properly filled.

My $02.

I purchased Sean Roe's hose kit which has the bleeder valve molded into the hose. It works very well and all you have to do is loosen the valve with your fingers, listen for the air to bleed off followed by a little coolant and re-tighten.

Just used Keith Verges bleeder kit $55. Easy install. Nice looking. Professional quality. Works awesome. No leaks period. :usa: No squeezing, burping etc. My motor was drained of all antifreeze during a head gasket job I did. Put the bleeders in and within 3 heat cycles (warmups) all of the air was bled out effortlessly. After the third warmup and bleeding, my Viper idled in neutral for about 30 minutes in my garage and the temp never went above 170-180 degrees. Those bleeders work great. Couldn't be more easy to do. Bleed air whenever you like easily...

In MY opinion, changing all the hoses(5) on our Gen I's is BEST limited to ONCE-in-a-lifetime...hence, I have completely switched them over to Roe Racing's silicone hoses as they will last MUCH longer than OEM over time...and the Schrader valve makes a nice bonus. Have also started changing our Gen II's to Sean Roe's hoses for similar reasons...though, admittedly, Gen II's are MUCH easier switch out hoses(2).

Thats what I did also, the only way to go, the Roe Hoses will last a very long time.
