Do they make a book for the Viper similar to the Corvette Black Book. I would like to find out all the differences between the years.

Thanks
Jim

Jon B (our Viper Guru and frequent visitor to this site) wrote an article in a prior issue of Viper Magazine.

You could call 800-998-1110 to get a copy. I believe it was the summer issue...but ask Kim when you call.

Essentially:

92-95 - ALL Roadsters - yes, all had canvas style roofs and slip in zip windows, all had sidepipes, 400 HP, no airbags
92 - red, 93 - red, black, 94-95 - red, black, green, yellow
96 - Roadsters, no sidepipes, 415 HP, slip in slider windows, unique color combos - red/yellow wheels, white/blue stripes, black, silver stripes
96 coupes - new 450 HP engine, chassis improvements, real power windows, airbags, hood had square vents not used on Roadsters, all blue/white stripes
97 - Roadsters - new 450 HP engine, chassis improvements introduced on the '96 coupe, real power windows, Red, Blue/white stripe (very rare)
97 - Coupe - evolutionary engineering changes, no stripe through license plate, Red available along with blue/white
98 - Coupe - red - silver, special 100 comemorative white/blue, passenger airbag cutoff switch
98 - roadster - smooth hood replaced with grilled hood - red - silver, airbag cutoff
99 - Coupe - 18" wheels, red, silver, black, power mirrors, ACR option available
99 - Roadster - 18" wheels, red, silver, black, power mirrors
00 - Coupe - same as above, red, steel gray, black, cast pistons vs previous forged
00 - Roadster - same as coupe
01 - Coupe - ABS! red, sapphire (dark) blue, Yellow
01 - Roadster - same as coupe
02 - LAST YEAR OF CURRENT BODY STYLE red, yellow, graphite

How's that guys?

Also, in 96 AC was standard equipment, not optional. The 96 RT/10 got the chassis improvements (aluminum suspension, etc) that were on the 96 GTS. Makes the 96 RT/10 rather unique, improved Gen I engine, Gen II suspension, unique color combo...

Yes I have the 96 RT/10 white with blue stripes....:)

'97 supposedly had a different cam?

'00-02 has our "creampuff" cam. Smoother idle, no neutral gear rattle (NGR).

i do not believe there is a black book like the corvette has. the corvette black book has a ton of information including engine prefix numbers, trim tag codes as well as the usual exterior interior colors and model year totals.
